My own little slice of heaven

I got a cheapo tripod at Radio Shack for $10 the other day and decided to snap a few pictures. We're putting in hardwood floors on the entire upstairs of our house, so for the time being, I've got all my basses and "toys" downstairs in the theater. Things are a little crowded, but right now it's a great room to hang out in.

I know I have a lot of basses (Thanks, TB! ), but I rarely have them all in the same room. It's a little alarming to see all of them together in their cases. Hello, my name is Bart, and I am a GAS-aholic. I also have a very indulgent wife.

Here are three very different basses. My Sadowsky PJ, my new Frankenbass-to-be Squier VM Jazz (Xmas present), and my trusty Steinberger XL-2, which was my main bass for a decade and remains a favorite.

The back of the theater. Because of the floors, I moved my Perfect Chair recliner down to the theater. I got the Perfect Chair after my back surgery, and it is incredibly comfortable. I'm now thinking of getting another one for the theater down the road -- good seating is a critical and often overlooked part of a home theater. Gotta be ergonomic for those long evenings of Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 on the big screen.

Crappy pic of the front of the theater showing the screen. I ought to get more lighting in future pics.

Those pictures seem pretty soft focus for a tripod. Maybe it's just the resizing.

How are you triggering the shutter? If you don't have a remote release try setting the timer so you don't jiggle the camera by pressing the shutter release.

I'm such a noob when it comes to cameras. I pretty much just push the button. Maybe I should invest some time learning how to operate it.

Good idea, though. Thanks!!!

Guilty as charged. I thought about putting a disclaimer at the top, but it seemed pretty obvious to me that this was a self-indulgent post from the start.

Any time, my good man. If you're ever out this way, we'll hang in the theater and drink some of Portland's best beverages.

I'll keep an eye on my Lava Swirl BH5 while you're here, though.

Next week would be cool. Right now the house sounds like a war zone already just with the floors going in. I have an idea what it might be like to live under a furniture factory now.

You betcha. Marrying her was perhaps the smartest thing I've ever done.

Perhaps? From the looks if it, the smartest.
