My PC restarts after it is done loading XP (well most of the time). I want to fix this, it is making me mad and has been going on for a month now. Right now it restarted after I inserted a cd. Does anybody know how I can fix this annoying problem?

Sounds like a driver error of some sort.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Admin Tools, Event Viewer.

You can sort by the errors (Red X). See if any of them match up with your reboots.

The errors are usually under application or system.

Just get Vista, it's way better.

Actually, we bought it a few months back to "test" it out compared to a XP machine. I had to learn it anyway for work.

My wife is great with digital enhancements and photography (part of her career) and she loves it and I haven't had to fix a thing on it. She even uses a ton of applications for work and her editing.

It used to be horrible, it's not so bad now. You just have to be smart enough to know what to disable to make it run well.

Microsoft wouldn't have put all of those extra safeguards in Vista if people weren't so impatient and click happy.

I see a bunch of red X's but I have no clue what to do now.

If your PC is not actually overheating the temp sensor on the mobo may be giving out false alarms. Try disabling the auto-shutdown feature for the processor or the cooling fan.

Should say like error occured in application or something *.exe or *.dll or it will have a 0x00000002a type of number when you double click on the event.
