Yippee..

I'd seriously like to know how this could have happened!??
I mean, there is no place truly safe, I know this. You can lock doors, and windows and place a guard in 20 different places in the school building and some whacko may still find a way in, but still...this just does not sit right with me. It was too easy for this guy to get in.

This happened yesterday afternoon, I didn't find out and was not notified until my son texted me around 3.

Man Barges Into N.J. School, Strips Off Clothes
EWING, N.J. (CBS 3) ― Authorities in Mercer County are investigating a bizarre incident in which a disoriented man gained entry to a high school and began to take off his clothes.

The incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. at Ewing High School in Ewing Township. Officials said there were initial fears that the man, identified as 23-year-old Jovan Ramos, was armed.

"I thought he was going to kill us, I thought he was going to kill us, I was scared out of my mind," student Jordan Washington said.

Washington was just one of 100 classmates getting ready to leave gym class for lunch Monday when Ramos, who appeared angry, barged into school's gymnasium uninvited and began taking off his clothes.

"He proceeded to rip his shirt off and then take his pants off," Washington explained.

"At that point, this bizarre behavior -- him ripping his shirt off -- he was making comment of a religious nature, the teachers knew that the situation was not good," Detective Anthony Messina of the Ewing Township Police Department said. "Comments like he was Jehovah and that this was his house."

Det. Messina said no one was hurt during the bizarre ordeal.

"There was no type of weapon that was ever mentioned, shown or seen," Det. Messina said.

Police arrested Ramos and school officials alerted parents within 30 minutes.

Ewing Township Superintendant Ray Broach released a statement that read in part: "As all doors are to be locked and secured at Ewing High School, we are currently investigating this breach of security."

Ramos, charged with criminal trespass and lewd behavior, was administered a psychological evaluation following the incident.

Wacky! I'm glad to hear no one got hurt, but I agree with your concerns about campus security.

Thats hilarious.

But I wonder, why do stuff like this happen only at American schools? I mean, you have lots of security, metal detectors, all that stuff. Whilst our schools here in Norway have little to NO security at all, yet stuff like this never happens. Why?

Apparently someone who worked for a school recently drove into it and preceded to light himself on fire upon entrance in a northern town in my state.

So it helps prove the American nut job ratio thesis.

At all of the local schools here in Central CA there are no metal detectors and only 2-3 security officers for thousands of students. You can pretty much come and go as you please.

I'm sure people like that have a very small one, probably hardly visible, so I wouldn't worry.

You really don't like meat rods do you?

I find it funny that the article says that it was when he started making the religious remarks that the teachers realised it was a bad situation. I take it that people coming into the gym and ripping their clothes off is common practice in Jersey?

Ever play sports and have been in a locker room? It's a big sweaty sausage factory. Who cares?

Hey, this is Jersey, that's only the tip of the iceberg.

What I found interesting and I don't think it mentions this in the article was that before the police got there, quite a few of the teachers actually put themselves between this guy and the students so he couldn't get any further.
I do give them a lot of credit for doing that. I can't imagine the BS that teachers have to put up with these days...
He may have been unarmed (unless he had a weapon concealed somewhere really odd..), but if the guy's psycho who the hell knows what he could have done.
