Greetings fellow TB members! My name is Jeff Beam. For the past ten years I've come to rely on TB, for news, general information, entertainment, and occasionally bass related info. And I've concluded that the TB community is a most righteous group of individuals! Thank you all so much!
That said, I am reaching out, and humbly asking for support of any kind!
My partner Natalie Dee Riggs has a rare genetic condition called Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. There are differing degrees of severity with the disease, Natalie has the worst: Lung affected, phenotype ZZ. There is no cure. The only treatment for those in the advanced stages is to undergo a lung transplant.
Three weeks ago Natalie was put on the lung transplant waiting list at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. People who are on the list typically get their transplant within four months. So she is on the 'lift hill' of the roller coaster so to speak. More about Natalie More about Alpha 1 (part 2)
