Ugh, I just performed Blue Train in my applied music study class. Not only did I mess up (not too noticable), I just didn't like it, not a good solo bass piece. They said when I solo'd I should have played around with the melody rather than just playing whatever I want within the changes. (your thoughts?)But I don't know. I'm having trouble finding a good solo piece. I'd prefer something classical and not too hard, any ideas? I could play prelude in G by Bach.

Best thing for nervousness, play in front of as many strangers as possible.

Funny thing is its not really playing in front of people, it's just when I put importance on it. Haha One of my problems is I worry about the impression I put on people. I had to follow a girl playing Debussy. it's a tough act to follow. So I put a lot of pressure on myself. On top of it I don't have any good pieces to play which makes it worse, and my teacher hates pop songs apparently. But maybe I could get away one with one if it is progressive enough. I was thinking King Crimson, 21st Schizoid Man maybe? But he really seems to hate "pop" music even seemed to not really dig Gershwin.

21st Century Schizoid Man would be a great choice, but that's because I love the song.

Red would be another cool choice.
