Hey, I thought mine was pretty good.

And it's not nice to say "retarded"

Well, theoretically, we can have unlimited threads.

As an immigrant from Scotland who now lives in the USA, I think I am going to create the -

"As a Scottish American, my 10 laments are..."

Followed by, "When I miss breakfast, my 10 laments are".

And coming to a theatre near you, "My 10 laments after my dog craps on the rug are.."

It's a blockbuster in the making I tell you.

"retarded" is to decribe this duplication phenomenon, not you guys...

not trying to offend!

nah you're missing the point - the point is to take some sort of state of being that you can't change, and whine about it. Inject some personal experience/perceptions that someone who is not in that same state may not be aware of. The Scottish-American one would work swimmingly.

Real talk though:

Quote:
Rule #4: Cultural Sensitivity
Negative remarks based on race, ethnicity, disability, gender, gender preference, or religion will not be tolerated. Using terminology such as "gay" or "retarded" in a negative manner is not appropriate here at TalkBass.
Don't matter if it's directed to a person or a thing, another word would be best.

Yeha, guys. Don't go and ruin it with silly random stuff. Make it rill, son! If they get too silly, they'll all just get closed

How about:

You know what, nevermind,...I had retarded replaced with an equally offensive word but probably best to leave it.

I get the idea, and "apologized" above...

But does seem just a little nitpicky though..

Oh wait, maybe I'm not supposed to use that word either.

There are people on this board that take great offense to that word for personal reasons. I'm not one of them, but I would still recommend editing it.

Glad I didn't have to be the one to say it again; I've sounded like a crybaby enough in these here threads
