Is My Wii Haunted?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm sitting here on the couch, plinking away on my new laptop, and out of the corner of my eye I catch a flash of blue...My Wii, untouched in weeks decides to fire itself up. I don't even have batteries in the controllers, they were scavenged to work the remote for the tele. This is the second time this has happened now. Always late at night, when I'm the only one around.

Anyone know of a video game excorcist?

On a related note, I was having relations one night and my Xbox fires up in an otherwise dark room. It happened twice in a 5 minute period. Turns out the controller fell between the cushions and was being activated by our movements.

I think you better check your power points.

Maybe it's just programmed to turn on and hock Nintendo products when it sees people around, but also alone...

Does it actually turn on or does the game slot light just turn itself on? That means you have a message.

You wouldn't happen to be playing Super Mario Galaxy right now, would you?

It might be random IR interference or something. We had a doorbell which would go off whenever a woman across the street would unlock her car.

Mine did the same thing last night, though I haven't had a chance to update it yet.

Oh so it's an update thing then, cool. I do leave it connected to my wi-fi network, so that makes sense.

No, I really have neglected the Wii lately, I've been brushing up on my Gears of War and Call Of Duty in anticipation of their releases. Before that I was trying to limit my time in front of the television, it's an evil box that robs me of all motivation.

I typed a whole paragraph in response to this statement, then deleted it, because I really can't argue with you lol. The internet is almost as bad, but at least I can learn and research stuff I actually care about.

No worries, I'm a fat lazy white kid, I'm just in denial.

The has a feature called wii24 I believe. Where if you leave it powered up, it's actually on the whole time. It'll alert you when an update is occurring, available or you have a message.
