Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this.
I have a shih-tzu dog, female, to my knowledge not operated, who is about 10 or 11 years old now. I also have a persian kitten, who has been fixed and is around 3 months old.
Now today, after a long day of work I came home got into bed, and discovered pee. I'm not sure who the culprit is but I'm quite irked to say the least. I don't know if there is a difference in odour between the 2, but this smelled almost like skunk... it was also presumably old as it was more "damp" than wet and it was cold.
Now to my knowledge, my kitten has no real history of peeing inside with the exception of going once or a few times on my gigbags in the first few days we got her... there was also a small mystery mark on one of my carpets downstairs...
My dog, on the other hand, especially recently does have a history of peeing in the house. She is confined to the basement while I'm gone (otherwise she eats the cat food and vomits everywhere...) Today when she was upstairs, she did go on my bed (which is rare) and I'm not sure I rmemeber exactly, but the cat soon followed and the two play/wrestled/fought a bit... but I really can't remember if they did fight on my bed or not... I do remember initially being worried that the dog would pee on my bed.
To complicate the mystery, if it were the dog, approximately 11 hours would have elapsed between the time of the incident and my discovery of it... in which case, I would think it would have dried by then? Would it be possible for it to still be damp?
The cat's littler is kept clean, in fact she just made use of it less than an hour ago...I really hope it's not the cat, because I'm not home as much these days and it's not a problem i can monitor sufficiently... The dog was almost put down recently because of her problem(s) but we decided to wait...
Google searching for the odour difference in the two animals and other thigns didn't work, so I figured I'd take it here. What do you guys think? I'm off to make up the couch... it's past my bedtime
