bought our first house this past spring and have our first kid on the way. apparently when you invest in peoples...stupid non productive masters in social work. worst degree ever. I did graduated with a guy who is now using his social work degree at the VA. I wish I was doing something meaningful and productive. and apparently because of where I work I qualify for loan forgiveness.

redman, lawman, badguy, goodguy, bluesman.

and here's a (very) old riddle:
a man is driving his son to school. they get into an accident and the man dies. the son is rushed to the hospital and when he arrives for emergency surgery the doctor says "i cant operate on this boy, HES MY SON!"

how is this possible?

and there's always the topic of women in movies. actually, go into class tomorrow and ask why Helen Keller couldn't drive?

Sigh. Do they offer any history courses at your school?

You might want to take one or two, and the mystery will be solved. Believe it or not, if you go back four or five decades, there were no female letter carriers.

The majority of those obsolete -man job titles are historic, and date back to times when the positions were by no means gender neutral. The old titles have also largely fallen out of common use.

George Carlin said it best,

A chairman should be a chair person, the mail man should be a mail carrier. But these feminist take it to far. Im not about to call that thing in the street a person hole cover. By their logic a ladies man would be a persons person.

Now name all the times legitimate human problems are confronted with the phrase "be a man!"

Feminism is just modern day sexist stifling that encourages fairness when it's to a woman's benefit.

I actually have taken history before...just 2 courses though. I just really wanted to see how people would respond to the question

Here's my question for you. Are you wasting YOUR money on this education, your PARENT's money, or the TAX PAYER's money? Please tell me WE aren't paying for such BS!

Whats up your butt, man? Just because you see no value in such a course does not mean that there isnt any.

My only point was that I DON'T see any value in it. The world doesn't revolve around me. I get it. But the only opinions I have to offer are my own. So I would think a logical ASSUMPTION would be that if I type it, it's just my opinion. I shouldn't have to start or end every single statement here with "in my opinions". Odds are, if I type it, its just my opinion.

There's very little that hasn't been done to level the field, hence the subject has run it's course.

My point is why offer such an opinion that states the OP's course of study is a waste of time and money just because you feel it is? It seems kind of disrespectful to me. Im sure you'd appreciate someone offering up similar comments about how you spend your time and money, right?

If you're so against college, why are you going?

None of my college teachers will take anything other than those two (back in school at 41). But really Office 2010 is nice. I haven't tried 365 yet, but Word 2010 has some great shortcuts and is more intuitive than previous versions to me anyway. There are tons of templates both in the program and available through Microsoft online (lots of outlines). I'll bet you can import something that someone in your industry came up with for just your situation. Charts and tables are a snap in Word. Literally seconds to set up the size and format. Then just fill in the boxes and you're all set.

Edit to add: Tell you what. If you like, I have a 180 trial of Office 2010 that I never used for a class. PM me and I'll throw it in the mail for you (assuming I can find it in the mess of a desk I do homework at....... no promises on that....but I'll try.)
