name the top 3 goofiest songs that you will ever confess publicly to liking.

Sign in to disble this ad
You could like them for sentimental reasons, or maybe they just stick with you due to the catchiness, or maybe you're just friggen' weird.

The criteria is that a) you must name them + post a link to them here if possible b) you must give a reason for liking them

here are my top 3:
The Lion Sleeps Tonight - I used to sing this to my oldest son at bedtime otherwise he wouldn't fall asleep. It reminds me of when he was a baby:
YouTube - ‪The Tokens - The Lion Sleeps Tonight‬‏

Destination Eschaton:
It's just infectious. I want to hate it so bad but it just wont leave my brain:
YouTube - ‪Destination Eschaton - The Shamen‬‏

The Mighty Quinn
I hate you Bob Dylan!!! (yes, he actually wrote this damn song)
another song that I want to hate but it's like musical herpes that I just cant get rid of.
YouTube - ‪Manfred Mann - Mighty Quinn 1967‬‏

1 - The Safety Dance - it's just so dumb, I can't stop singing it! Also reminds me of Bio Dome, one of the stupid movies of my adolescence I used to enjoy
Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming

2 - That's What Friends Are for - from The Jungle Book. OK, it's just a great song! Not a whole lot more to it...but it is just a fantastic song. And I love the harmony. One of my favorite songs of all time. Also - when I was in middle school, I was a bass in the school choir. So I used to like to show off and sing Shere Khan's part at the end of the song
Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming

3 - That's How I Beat Shaq - by Aaron Carter. This is by far the worst. When I worked at the skating rink, this song was played almost daily. I hated it with a passion. Then it grew on me
Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming

This song used to drive my older sister crazy when we were kids. (The Little Debby commercial did too for some reason.) I will always love this tune for that reason: YouTube - ‪Short Shorts-The Royal Teens-1957‬‏

This tune just makes me sing along: YouTube - ‪Paula Abdul - Straight Up‬‏ This version made me feel better about it: YouTube - ‪Straight up-Halifax‬‏

Sadly, I not only bought this album when it came out, but this song was the reason: YouTube - ‪John Entwistle - Dancing Master‬‏ I really hate John's bass tone on this tune these days, but I still think the bass is badass.......

Love the fat bass tone in that one though

I don't consider the Talking Heads or The Police to be corny at all and I love those "80's" bands.
