Is this evidence? I'd like to see the outcome of the review of this discovery...

Neat find, though. |

| | | | From what I've read, it's a crackpot with a book to sell.
I'll be really surprised if this turns out to have any truth to it. |

too bad |

| | | | Could be significant, but really, there's kinda got to be life outside Earth. I mean, cmon, we're one tiny planet out of millions in our galaxy out of an infinite number of galaxies in the universe. Seems kinda naive to believe there's nothing out there.

Getting to moon had many benefits, including helping to inspire youth to study science. |

The idea that there may be another Earth-Planet out there somewhere in our galaxy is fascinating, the possibilities are endless.
Before someone quotes me on this, I will say this: I suppose that I should be thankful for the money invested into space exploration, satellite technology and all that jazz. Our society, and in turn the global community (to an extent), would not be any where near as advanced as we are now. |

Life could be widespread all over the universe or limited to just our planet. We simply don't know. (By the way, the number of galaxies in the universe is not infinite.) http://www.stephenjaygould.org/libra...ginoflife.html
As far as the claim that is the subject of the thread, PZ Myers is, as always, rigorously spot on with his analysis. http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2...ver_bacter.php
