This picture was in the Boston Globe this morning. I saw it and said "She's lookin' like Atoz, I gotta show TB". I took a picture with my camera phone, so it's not great but you can see what I'm talking about.  |

Yes,I realize that these athletes are on the world stage and taking the high road is the appropriate thing when being interviewed. On the other hand, I also understand that in the heat of competition it's hard to hide that kind of look when things that just look wrong keep happening, so I don't fault Nastia for it.
While watching various events the last several days, I've also seen many athletes from many countries with that same look on their faces, so it's not just her. I think it could be very interesting to take a deep dive into the medal count and see how many of China's medals were won in competitions that are judged rather than measured.

Why not just make your own medals and say you won them? |

You left the smiley of when you quoted me. I realize that there are all kinds of shenanigans that go on in the Olympics. It's a shame that it has to be that way, but the "lure of gold (medals)" everything that can bring an individual and/or a country can make people do things that are less than honorable. It sucks that the athletes who got there honestly and compete honorably suffer because of it.
