The WH has already said they'll veto it if it passes in its current state. My opinion is that words words words political words words because reasons reason political reasons reasons.

As I understand Feinstein's amendment to the NDAA which was adopted inserts language into the NDAA that states it takes no stance on detention of citizens in the US. The NDAA now merely affirms current US law which is unclear.

I for one can't see how we can toss habeas corpus out the window, effectively gut the sixth amendment and still pretend to be a free society.

So, they are trying to take away the incentive for "The People" to rise up against a tyrannical govt. No?

Allowing the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens is clearly a violation of the US Constitution. Passing the act with that provision intact would be a betrayal of the American people.

the 6th amendment to the US Constitution protects the right to a fair and speedy public trial by jury, including the rights to be notified of the accusations, to confront the accuser, to obtain witnesses and to retain counsel.

Strong opinion available on request.

Question: Have any of you actually taken the time to read the bill at all? Or are you just going off of what is fed via the media?

Why read it when you can just react to other people freaked out about it? Relax man, you're white too, so you're safe.

I read it. But I admit I didn't read Feinstein's amendment or any recent edits. It was a good 2-3 weeks ago. I also noticed your post on FB regarding this. Not sure if we read the same versions.
