| | | | As I understand Feinstein's amendment to the NDAA which was adopted inserts language into the NDAA that states it takes no stance on detention of citizens in the US. The NDAA now merely affirms current US law which is unclear.
I for one can't see how we can toss habeas corpus out the window, effectively gut the sixth amendment and still pretend to be a free society.

the 6th amendment to the US Constitution protects the right to a fair and speedy public trial by jury, including the rights to be notified of the accusations, to confront the accuser, to obtain witnesses and to retain counsel.
Strong opinion available on request.

But I admit I didn't read Feinstein's amendment or any recent edits. It was a good 2-3 weeks ago. I also noticed your post on FB regarding this. Not sure if we read the same versions. |
