Bama romps Texas.

Florida romps Cincinnati.

Who else is playing?

bama over texas in the championship, although ingram DID win the heisman...

oregon over ohio state in the rose bowl in a blow out. all offense and no defense against no offense and kind-of defense.

florida will beat cincinnati, something like 21-10.

tcu over boise state, and (ugh!) take your pick between iowa and georgia tech. i don't care. fun fact: iowa apparently has one of the world's top creative writing programs.

the small money bowls that i plan on watching:

south florida over northern illinois in a closer-than expected international bowl. uni apparently has a great running game. south florida is super-streaky and doesn't play that well in cold weather.

utah will probably beat the crap out of cal. again, cal is extremely streaky. ..but utah's a more solid team. comparing what each was able to do against oregon, the utes will probably have their way with our sturdy golden bear.

It's a done deal, I will be at the Bama game. ROLL TIDE! The crystal football will stay in the SEC for the fourth straight year.

This article explains a little bit about what I'm saying regarding the SEC Letdown Bowl that someone has to go to every year.

I'd like to see the SEC go undefeated in the bowl season and the idea of that happening this year isn't exactly absurd.

Auburn vs. Northwestern - Auburn manhandles Northwestern in the second half to win big
Alabama vs. Texas - Alabama pulls it out at the very end but it'll be a great game
Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech - A relatively low scoring game with Tennessee captalizing on a VA Tech turnover to win the game
LSU vs. Penn State - Sorry Joe Paterno. Not today.
Florida vs. Cincy - Tebow won't be crying after they dismantle Cincy
Kentucky vs. Clemson - This one could go either way but if Kentucky can shut down Spiller, they'll be fine.
Arkansas vs. East Carolina - Razorbacks light up E. Carolina with ease
Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma State - If the O line can make some holes for Dexter McCluster, it'll be a good day for the Rebels
Georgia vs. Texas A&M - AJ Green will be great in this game if Joe Cox can get the ball to him
South Carolina vs. UConn - Spurrier is washed up but maybe he can spark enough life for the Gamecocks to take a W here.

Well, we are used to winning championships down there, not second tier bowl games.

In the one that counts, Oregon over Ohio State.

This, and the fact that the Sugar Bowl used to be the game to look forward to in the SEC. Now it's nothing but a consolation prize for some lower-tier conference champ to get a shot at a depressed SEC team. It has nothing to do with making excuses. I know that when the NCG takes it's turn at the Sugar Bowl, that will be fixed for that one year, but every other year it seems this bowl game is destined for two teams who really aren't getting what they want. It just sucks for both sides. Ticket sales as well as the general enthusiasm about the game has been horrible for several years straight.

It's a west coast thing. You'd have to live out here to get it. I live out here, so I deal with it all the time. It's kind of like the NCG for the west coasters.

Sounds kind of like a Div II title game. Or better yet, maybe it's like chick ball? It's only important...if you're a chick...a chick who likes ball...but it still doesn't really matter.

I kiiiiid, I kiiiid.

When I lived in New England no one I knew there cared a whit about SEC teams either...just sayin'. Provincialism is a big part of the fun of watching team sports, at least in my book.

Dang, that stinks. I wish I could go, but I'm getting back into Chicago from Florida on the 30th and can't do that kind of turnaround.

Yeah, but college football in the Northeast stinks.
