NCAA College Basketball

Did a quick search and noticed there weren't any threads dedicated to College Basketball, so I decided to make one.

I'm a Syracuse fan, seeing as I grew up there and have followed them for most of my life. So far this season has been great, except for tonight against Georgetown. Pretty embarrassing to see our no-hustle laziness show against such a bitter rival. Andy Rautins may have re-injured the same knee that kept him out all next season, but we'll see if he can make a somewhat quick recovery. I am glad, however, to see that Johny Flynn got benched for a few minutes, proving that Boeheim still remains unafraid of benching ANYONE who isn't playing smart. Too bad it didn't do enough to get this team a win tonight. Ah well.

just checked fox sports, and the gators only beat auburn by three!

the SEC seems to be wide-open this year. i hope we can beat tennessee at least once. we did beat butler, which should count for something, but we're not a top 25 team. (yet?)

the season'll be a success if we make the field of 65, frankly. we don't have any interior presence. we're supposed to be pretty good next season.

skimming some reports, the cal team might have a shot at winning the pac-10. that'd be cool. not going to the games, though. it costs money, and i got to see two years' worth of national championship-caliber play for free, so i ain't payin' for anything less!

edit: whoops, we didn't beat butler (this season!)--it was bradley, another mid-major that made the tournament a few seasons ago.

I think watching basketball is like watching paint dry, but from what I understand, Mizzou is doing alright.

I never cared about college basketball mainly because I'm an Aussie, but I saw a guy play here about 2 years ago and he was good. His name is Patty Mills and he's now playing for St Mary's, with 3 or 4 other Aussies.

I'm now a St Mary's fan

Dangit, dangit, dangit. The Gators hung around for most of the game last night, and dang near picked off LSU on the road.

So, I am going to Vegas with friends in march... but its going to be weekend before march madness begins.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYdSR...eature=related

That's the game i was talking about.

Not sure how they made that out of bounce call, but like they said, few calls in the end that could have go either way so it equaled it out in the end.

Alright Cougs....here's your chance to put a big smudge on the UW's mens hoops season by beating them at home and ruining their Senior Day. You'd also take away the outright Pac-10 title from them.

Can Coach Bennett and his boys do it? I think they can.

Or not.....I'm not a big Pitt fan, but how about those Panthers knocking you guys off when you're #1 for the second time this season! Must be frustrating.

not a great season for the gators. getting sweeped by tennessee and splitting with a not-so-good kentucky.

we better turn it around for the sec conference tournament. if we sneak into the ncaa tournament through the back-door, then the season won't be a total loss. if not, well, i hope calathes decides he isn't NBA-ready just yet.

If Duke had a bit of a deeper bench, and a little more variety to their game, they could have had the edge on UNC today.

I find Duke is strong at controlling the pace of the game, and making teams play Duke's game. Though they do lack a bit of inside presence. A shooting team can/will only make it so far. As shown in the game today, UNC just brought it to them and wore them down. Duke's legs were so tired that they could barely get shots to the rim.

And they relied far too much on Scheyer, Singlair and Henderson. They were beat by the end of the game. (why was Paulus on the bench for the whole second half?)

What a good game though, both are amazing teams. Cant wait for the madness to begin

Also, Go Deeks, beat Clemson!
