Oh yeah, I wasn't thinking about the Bagman incident with Sheridan. No wonder the mention of his name bothers you so much!

Sheridan may very well know the person, or not. I don't know or care. He's not an investigative journalist, and I don't look to him for that kind of information.

As for being an SEC guy, he's been writing for USA Today for decades...hardly an SEC-centric publication. I understand if his comments on the bagman angered you, but voiding his entire career over it is rather far-reaching. He's just an odds-maker. Nothing more, nothing less.

ND is for real, but they've also been real unimpressive against some really less-than-average competition. That's the only reason people aren't giving them the respect ND fans feel is deserved. Fans are always biased. Honestly, I'm quite surprised at how level-headed the national media has been towards Notre Dame throughout this whole thing. I would have thought they would have launched them to number 1 weeks ago, but on the opposite side of things they've been very congratulatory yet critical of how sloppy ND has looked all season. The only thing rather comical to me in all this is the constant mentioning of their line backer as a Heisman candidate. I think that one is pretty funny.

Step #1. Select game to make odds on.
Step #2. (fill in the blank with criteria you think most important)

I wish I knew how to set up a poll on talkbass. I'll make odds on what step 2 will be, assuming we get honest answers.
Step #1. Select game to make odds on.

Step #2. Make odds that best represent how you think the public is going to bet (not who you think is going to win)

Step #3. Watch the incoming money and change the odds as necessary to maintain relatively even money on both sides of the bet.

Step #4. Make you money on the vigorish while minimizing risk.

I still don't think ND is very good.

Bama is a much better team. Although no one in CFB is transcendent this year. Last year's LSU team is better than any team this year.

Tim Tebow? The NCAA made a rule after him.

Well except the death part, but that can be replaced by the international humanitarian work he has done.

Not based on any analysis of games.

It's completely based on the facts you, yourself, point out below:

That is unfortunate.
...and that is exactly why it's comical.

It doesn't matter if he is good enough to win it. The idea of him winning it is still comical due to the nature and history of the award. The same thing would be true if you were talking about an offensive or defensive lineman, regardless of stats it would still be comical.

Why is Alabama the presumed #2 and not Oregon? Besides timing and regional bias?

I was baiting him just a little on that last one, but honestly it's a bit comical to me because there have been a dozen linebackers over the last decade with similar stats as Manti that were never even mentioned much less considered an option in any Heisman race. I'm not one who goes around seeing pro-Notre Dame bias under every media story, but in the case of Manti, it's pretty blatant. He's a GREAT player and I'd love to have had him at Alabama...but considering the position he plays, those kinds of stats are nothing unusual compared to other great NCAA linebackers who never even sniffed the Heisman.

There seems to be a common theme to all the NCAA threads this year.

You keep characterizing other people as absurd fans. Therein lies the humor.

It's Iron Bowl week! He's just trying to divert from what lies ahead! When he mentioned looking in the toilet and not being offended, I just figured he was talking about Jordan-Hare.

You've said your fair piece about Alabama fans, I dont need the quote button. I think others would agree.

It's all in good fun. Just promise me you won't walk up and sucker punch me if we ever happen to meet here in town. In return I promise to make sure I've showered before I teabag you.
