When an actual play is happening things are going so fast that I can understand when the wrong call is made. What I think happened is the ref walked up at an angle that made it look as if the ball were over and he made the call. Then when he got closer he was too embarrassed to reverse himself. |

I'm a Michigan fan and I'm quite certain the ref didn't cheat.
He just made an egregiously bad and incompetent call.
I mean really folks - are there people who actually believe officials are out to promote a particular outcome as opposed to just plain screwing the pooch?

Saban went after him as well, if for no other reason than to keep him away from LSU. I can't believe how bad of a QB he's turned out to be honestly. I still can't figure out why Hill had ZERO caries in the 4th quarter. It makes absolutely no sense. LSU should have easily closed that game out with a win. Clemson is a good team, but LSU should easily overpower them with all those athletes. |

I'm sure ref's have cheated in the past at some point or another, either for personal reasons or to get some kind of kick back, but I think it's just error. Watching a game on TV just reveals everything even without instant replay. At eye level, on the field, it's a completely different game to watch, better in some ways and worse in others. In person, you get a much better perception on the physical differences between teams. The trench war is much more intense and fun to watch, and the speed of the game is much more intriguing. You are also aware of how much more spreadout the game is on the field versus watching it on TV. Those receivers get way downfield very quickly, even if they're only a decoy. There's also holding on every play that you can see, and it's really a matter of speculation as to when it should or shouldn't be called. But ball spots and such are horribly tough to get right in person. I'm actually amazed that the refs get it as close as they do honestly. I think the officials do an amazing job for the most part, but it stinks whenever a mistake changes the flow of the game. |

i apologize to the incompetent ref in question, who should never be allowed on the field again.
as Tractorr put it...it is one thing to blow a call in the heat of a play, where action is going on fast and furious...it is another to blow this call, where everything was calm and the whole world could see what that ref apparently could not.
it is pretty much as Eublet has summed it up also...but NOT HERE, this was more than just a blown call in the heat of battle...this was a call that showed either total incompetence or lack of being able to see.

both looked quite out-coached. (in fact, i have to say Charlie Strong is an incredible coach*) florida Started that second half almost in panic mode and it cost them dearly.
on the other side, both Clemson & Louisville clearly came to play and win.
if you're going to play like that, you are probably going to get beat every time.
now, on to the big one...can Alabama keep the NC streak going, or will this be the first real chink in the mighty SEC armor?...stay tuned sports fans...Monday night...be there or be square.
ps-edit-- * and where did he pick up his incredible coaching chops?...why at that SEC school...the University of Florida...who he just punked tonight...

Still, I think Alabama is the best team in the country (which shows SEC domination on some level), and I think we will win the title game in a few days. If I'm wrong I'll admit it and congratulate Notre Dame.

I think we see that going on. I like rooting or the underdog, last year I pulled for all SEC regardless of their opponent but not this year. It is good for my Gamecocks to have the two teams that almost beat us year in year out lose big games. I like to think it helps us with recruiting. But Florida isnt going anywhere as they are recruiting just as good as ever. |

I've been pretty heavily in Bama's corner, and maybe it's the shellacking of Florida and the loss by LSU, but I think ND can do it.
ND's front 7 is ridiculous and I know this Bama defense isn't as good as it has been in the past.
