Ladies and gentlemen, it's finally here!! The greatest time of the year. College football season. Looking forward to sharing another season with you cats! So with that being said, let's get down to business. Thursday
South Carolina vs NC State
The Gamecocks will give stiff competition for second place in the SEC east this year. They opened up last season against NC State and there was absolutely no competition. NC State will put up more of a fight this year but still won't be able to take down Spurrier.
27-10 South Carolina Saturday
Auburn vs Louisiana Tech
I know there's a ton of nay sayers about Auburn but we all know the last thing anyone needs to do is underestimate an SEC team, especially Auburn (anyone remember 2004?). Louisiana Tech has come with the upset before but not this year. Chizik will be out there to show that Auburn is back. WAR EAGLE!
Auburn wins it 35-7 Georgia vs Oklahoma State
Auburn isn't the only team with a bunch of question marks around them. With the loss of Stafford, Moreno, and others leave Georgia a little stranded and that's not what you want when you're going up a team like Oklahoma State that knows how to put points on the board. Georgia has talent but if they want to win this one, they have to come out of the gates strong. It'll be a close one but I think Georgia will bring in a W.
31-28 Dawgs Alabama vs Virginia Tech
Alabama coming off a great season with a disappointing end will be back to try and put a little fire back. Alabama will come out with a win but Virginia Tech won't make it easy on them.
Tide wins it 28-24 Florida vs Charelston Southern
Really? Is this even fair? Southern has a better chance of winning by staying home.
Gators win 91-0 LSU vs Washington
LSU behind Jordan Jefferson and a great recruiting class will be a force to be reckoned with this season. LSU takes this one with some HUGE plays.
45-3 Tigers Sunday
Ole Miss vs Memphis
Everyone is giving Ole Miss a lot of hype but I honestly don't believe they'll be as good as everyone wants them to be. They have Snead who is a great QB but not a whole lot of other players of note. Still though, Memphis doesn't stand a chance.
Rebels take it 38-6
Well you guys know what to do. Post your predictions, talk smack, and have a good time. Just glad the season is finally here.
Let's get it started! WAR EAGLE!

Utah 38-14

I predict a repeat of the Clemson game last year: Bama 42 -- VT 10.

Another rebuilding year for WSU (probably year 2 of 3), and Stanford is supposed to be on the way up. Last year, Stanford beat Wazzu 58-0. Not a pretty start to the season, but I don't think the Cougs will be shut out, and I think the defense will be improved. My prediction: Stanford 28, WSU 10.

Let's get it started! WAR EAGLE! | Good predictions. I can't disagree with much there other than the Bama-VT game. I think this one could be a close win or a blowout for either team. Very nervous about it as a fan, but even putting that aside, the new OL at Bama scares me. I know VT has the same issue. It's hard to predict which team will be able to put a good one together. I think it's fair to say that both teams could get it done.
However, I do think it's more likely that Bama has a stronger OL than VT does, so I'll give us the nod for the win. I'll go a little higher and say it's going to be 24-13 simly because I think our defense is going to swamp them. That's why I'm bumping the score up in our favor. I think we'll force turnovers that will get us some points.
Other than that, I can't wait for this stuff! Here's to a good season for everyone and all the drama that goes along with it! It's hard to believe it's here!

Obviously, the first game isn't going to be satisfying no matter how good the Gators look. Oh well, it's better for me as a fan to ease into the season. If the Gators/Vols game was this week, I'd be foaming at the mouth by Friday.
Frankly, I'm too lazy to make predictions this week--nobody's played yet, so I lack perspective. Plus, none of the games are in-conference, which makes them harder to gauge. I think you did a good job, Stanky.
And as Jason said, here's to a good season!

I'm gazing into my crystal football and predicting CSU 21, CU 17.
Go, RAMS!

For those in SoCal, I was watching a rerun of Sanford & Son last night on KDOC-56, and they will be broadcasting an SEC game of the week every Saturday at 9 AM. Bama-VT and UGA-OSU are the only SEC games worth watching this weekend.

| | Registered User | | | | | Yeah, I'm anxious to see USC with the new QB. Also ready to see how Cal will play this year. They just might be the team to beat in the PAC-10.
Also curious to see Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia and LSU. There are a lot of potential sleepers in the SEC this season.
Outside the SEC, teams I'm anxious to see are Penn State, Notre Dame, Texas, OU, and OSU.
But for the sake of argument, it seems to me that the SEC is the conference to watch as of right now, mostly because there were so many teams that disappointed last year, along with Bama who surprised, and Florida that appears to be more of the same. It'll be fun watching this one shake out.

An easy warm up game and probably some things that can't be spoken of in public.

I'm looking forward to seeing the top three in the Mountain West slug it out, too. Lots of naysayers here, but they really do play good football in that time zone.
