Same goes for the opposite. The team you play on, male/female, should be based on sex, not sexuality.

Um... ya think?
All kidding aside, bravo to Kye for having the (figurative) balls to come out to the coach & team. Methinks if it were a biologically male player on the men's basketball team who identified as female there would be a whole lot more resistance. Sadly... |

Ah, you humans and your silly little lives.

That is the whole point of a transgender person. That's why this is a big issue or else you wouldn't be hearing about it. |

I could say I "feel" like a Martian female and want to be treated like one, but it doesn't change the fact that I have a male human physiology. The separation between male and female sports teams isn't because the female players thought the uniforms were just ugly and wanted a different cut, they're different because male and female physiology is different, which gives males an unfair advantage on average against women physically.

We're just talking about females and males in the human race not about feeling like martians, zebras, sloths, birds or a whale. Yes, it might be unfair for her but even in human males there is a lot of diversity in terms of height, weight and strength.
I say let her play and see how she stacks up. I give her half a season. lol |

I still don't see how this merits news. It's really just a case of a trans person openly being trans. It has nothing to do with sports. Hell, we have trans people on TB and we don't have news stories printed about them. Congrats, dude, on coming to terms with yourself, etc etc.

I am fully in support of LGBT rights, believe me, and if some one whose undergone hormone therapy to complete his/her transformation to "the other side" as it were, then fine, but if some one is chemically and physiologically still a male or female, then they should still compete as either a male or a female.
