My wife, her sister and 2 kids are in Salem until Monday. They got their Thurs. They feel like they've just about seen all there is see in Salem, and they just got back from South Deerfield and Yankee Candle.

Any recommendations for things for them to do in Boston tomorrow? They've done the Freedom Trail. They have a car. Thanks.

Freedom Trail is always good as it takes you around the City and then you can decide what section you want to go back to.

Duck Tours are Fun too.

There is a nice Aquarium on the Waterfront (call to be sure they are not doing constuction) and it is near Fanueil Hall - another Historical Tourist Location.

You can go to the Top of The Prudential Tower - lot of info on the History of the City and on a nice day you can see everything including Fenway Park. There is also a Mall there and a Cheese Cake Factory Restaurant as well has many others.

A trip down Newbury Street is always a good take - if for nothing more than the people watching - it is Boston's rather affluent shopping District with eateries etc....

Not far from Newbury Street on the West end of Newbury at Mass Ave is Berklee College of Music - and from there Fenway is a short walk.

Check the Boston Chamber of Commerce there are lots of other things I left out. Salem alone has a lot to see too.

It's a great city for walking, if they're into that. Starting off in boston common they could walk down newbury, hit all the shops. At the end of newbury, if they cross mass ave and go down a block to comm ave they'll eventually hit kenmore square/fenway park area. I think there's a sox game sometime tomorrow, so could be a heavy traffic time. From newbury street, going down mass ave in the opposite direction you'll hit the christian science center which has a nice little park and reflecting pond and across that is the prudential center/copley center which is more shopping. Near there is also Kings which is bowling, if they're into that?

There's also the arboretum, which should have some nice foliage if they like nature type stuff. That's in the JP area, but if they take route 9 (huntington ave) to the Jamaica Way they'll be there in no time.

There's the museum of science in cambridge, which is right off of 93, perfect if they're driving down from Salem. In that vein, there's also the museum of fine art on huntington ave.

Depends on what they're looking for. Something historic? Something just to kill time? Just looking to see the city?

They're not picky. Some good ideas so far.

If there's a bosox game downtown tomorrow, my wife is going to want no part of that traffic in an unfamiliar town. How about anything to do in the burbs or even near or a drive from Salem?

The Yale Museums, esppcially the museum of Naturla History are a lot of fun. They have a whole whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling.

Cool, also about a 2 hour drive from Boston.

The Boston Museum of Science is fun.

Drive out to Concord, check out where the Revolutionay War started. Or head over to Cambridge and drive around the Harvard campus. It's beautiful this time of year.

They went to Harvard and enjoyed it!

But I think they did almost everything you can do in Salem in a 4 day span.
