I'm not sure how it is in the rest of the country, but I am getting farther & farther into financial ruin. I play bass in 2 bands, one blues, the other classic rock covers. I play out about 3-4 times a month. I bring home maybe $ 500. per month .
That said, my real job is a contractor/builder .
In the last few months my business has dropped off to about
10%. I'm not paying my monthly bills, no truck payment,
health insurance is canceled, all of last months bills are now due on top of new ones, wife constantly yelling about lack of $, oh yea, here comes Christmas!
I'm not sure why I'm writing this, maybe just to get it off my chest & see if any of my bass playing brothers are going through something similar?
Maybe some of you know someone who needs a remodel?
studio built? I'm willing to travel!

Sorry to hear that bro. I don't know what to tell you. Construction has been probably the hardest hit industry in the current recession. Is there any closely related work you could do, like be a building code inspector or something? Can you teach music lessons?

My room's wall was built on sand so there's a huge crack under the upper belt and it might fall any time soon. We've started the building but since I'm in the military, it takes longer than expected (That belt is inter-connected to the rest of the house, so I can't just take down the wall and rebuild it).

I don't suppose you travel to the Middle East? :x

Wish I could help, but my salary is around $100US per month. ._.
