Im just a new band , I'm about 14 and didn't have Photoshop at my house, and only had Paint for Windows Vista, and I'm wanting to make a better band logo for my band, using photoshop...can anyone give me some pictures of stuff I could use for it? Id go over it with the 5 members in our band. If you can help us that would be awesome.

Thanks.

P.S. Heres what I was able to make in paint, with a picture my friend made me...just to give you an idea of what to make.

P.S.S. If you could please make me a design that I can edit and use without having to be copyrighted, it would be apprecitated.

I have Photoshop right now at my dads house, but want to know how to make a pretty cool design with like a skull that has blue fire, like a frostfire kind of thing with our name in a cool design too, and I'm wanting to know how to make a background.

P.S. My dad has the first Photoshop CS

This is why you should date a graphic designer. In a pince I would use the flaming blue skull as the background and probably change the font on there too. You need to set the text and the picture to different layers (ie. "send to back")

No offense to you sir, but when i think of a band logo, i think of something easily recognizable and easy to draw and stick with you...like...Metallica's M or that blink 182 symbol.

I agree with this. The skull would make a cool BG but try to design something simple and distinctive that makes sense. It's hard to do but worth the effort.

It's hard to use at first, but once you understand it it isn't so bad. If I get out of work early tonight, I can help you out a bit.

When I get back in St. John's I can make one for you, just PM me the photo of the skull.

If a "logo" is photographic, it's not a logo.

As Paul said, it has to be simple, use no more than about three colors, and you should be able to print it in a half-inch square without any consequence to readability.

What you're looking for is a photo-montage.

I'll put up a pic of my bands logo. I made it myself by converting a picture of an ape my parents took in 1971 at a zoo.

You should change the band name to "Freezer Burn" too.

I'd at least isolate the image a bit from the background and complete the flame, as the shape is quite effective. Think of it on a t-shirt. Also the band name needs to be placed in a more snappy way.
Something like this might work a bit better.

Sorry I don't have time to help, I have to go to bed.(china time)

If you ask me your in the wrong program for logo design and you should really be firing up illustrator (photoshop can do it but not as well).

Find some free vector(scale-able, sizable, tweakable...meant for logos) skulls and flames and start messing with them and various fonts....look free skulls right here: http://mulpo.com/free-vector-skulls-pack
