Need headphones

I'm in the market for new headphones. I received Sennheiser CX300-IIs for Christmas. I now realize I can't wear in ear buds. I have the kind that fit in the ear like little speakers. They're shot so that's why I need the new ones. I like the way they fit but I'm thinking there are better quality kind. These came with an mp3 player I bought a year ago. The Sennheisers sound real good but hurt my ears. i like the noise cancellation of them too. Any recommendations?

If you're looking for on the ear design, you can't go wrong with Grado cans

As for buds, can't help you because the only buds I use are in-ear

I love my Grado cans, I have the SR-80s. Honestly, nothing will even come close to Grados in tripple the price range.

Probably a silly question, but have you tried using a smaller surround with your headphones?

Most Sennheiser in-ear headphones have a few different sizes of rubber grommet, maybe just need the smaller size? (seeing it seems to be fit that's the issue).
