Need help finding someone who does religious medals

Sign in to disble this ad
Howdy all,

So I have an exgirlfriends birthday coming up in August and I was planning on getting her a gift. If you called me whipped, be my guest. I have my reasons for getting her a gift, aside from the fact that I've known her since I was 4 years old, and we moved across the country together.

I've decided to get his a religious medal, since she's gone all Born Again on me, so I plan on getting one made. It would have St. Jude on one side and St. Mary Magdalene on the other.

Unfortunately, I don't of anyplace where I could get one like that stock, so it would have to be made. Also unfortunately, I don't know where I could get that done either.

So I'm looking for a place, preferably online, that makes religious medals, and hopefully isn't too expensive since my latest dental bill is putting me in the poor house.

Any help TB?

Seems like a customized one would be expensive unless this is something "religious medallion shops" are known to do regularly. I would just get her one of each.

Thats the backup plan. I don't know squat about jewelry, so I figured I'd ask TB what its opinion was.

The simplest solution is still to buy two cheap ones and glue them together for the ultimate birthday gift.

PS: If you get why the medallion has St. Jude and St. Mary Magdalene, you get a digital cookie prize.

a)IMO, you will never find a "stock" medal like that.
b)I didn't know Catholics did the "Born Again" thing?

Here's an online store with some things to look at-

I suppose you've never heard of "The Troubles", then... Ireland is bitterly divided between Catholics and Protestants. If you assume she's Catholic just because she's Irish, you could be making a serious faux pas. And I've never heard of a Born Again Catholic. Unless you just mean she was Catholic as a child and has recently decided to take it back up.

She was born Catholic and has recently started going to Church and all that jazz again just recently. I've decided I'm going to get two medals and solder them together.

A good Irish Catholic Girl, you need to get her back!!

Yeah, I was brought up in a very staunch Irish Catholic home. When I left the Catholic Church my Grandparents disowned me for awhile until they saw the red hair on my son we he was born. I am assuming she is going to a protestant church now with the whole born again or did she just return to the Catholic Church?

I now go to a Vineyard church which probably made my grandparents turn in their grave.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you won't find one like that.

Just because we're all talking about it, I found a way to be catholic and not particularly like the catholic church. I don't know how, but it works, i know it works because that's how I am.

I want a traditional mythological medal with Saint Anger's image upon it. I will wear it round my neck , Saint Anger I will as he never gets respect.

She's Catholic, but she isn't a good girl. Its the chick from this thread. We ended up patching things up, but she's a cheatin whore.
I hate AA! (rant) Advice?

Hence St. Jude (patron saint of the hopeless and lost causes) and St. Mary Magdalene (among other things she is the patron saint of prostitutes who seek reform.)

I hope you all got the joke.

I'm not Catholic by the way, I've been atheist since ~2nd grade when I also stopped believing in Santa and the Easter Bunny. You could probably classify me as agnostic though, I just need tangible proof a higher power exists. But thats not the point of this thread, now is it?

Although using someone's religion as a way of sticking it to them might seem like a fun idea, I recommend putting the energy into finding a new girl and getting over this'n.

She, like most people, wouldn't get it until its explained to them. Why I'm doing it, is partly for the joke she won't get, partly because I already got suckered into getting her a birthday present.

I've been with this other chick for awhile.

I'd be giving her this medal the day I get all my stuff back from her finally. (Clothes, books, and DVDs which she borrowed)

Ok, I just spit tea all over my keyboard!

Yeah, I remember the post. Glad to hear you have someone else who is making you happy.

Best catholic store ever.

http://www.blissmfg.com/

Otherwise bliss may be able to make one for you. But they are out of the office until July 7th. Are you looking for Sterling silver, 14k, stainless, or something else?

How about opening up a web browser and typing in "Religious Medals", then hitting "search"?

I get lots and lots of websites.....

Touche good sir. Touche.

I'm looking for something preferably lead based, though pewter is fine.
