So while at work (recordstore) I mentioned that I was going to nashville for vic's camp, and my manager asked me to get a bottle of whiskey pronounced "orble---Or-bull" that you are supposed to mix with other drinks, because that's what it's made for and it tastes like crap straight. On the back of the label it has "recipes" for its use, but an internet search yields no results. Anyone know the correct name of what I'm thinking of?

Maybe that was a mangled pronunciation of 'horrible'?

"'ey yer gunna gemmeh summadat orble whiskey, yereckon?"

The only whiskey brand I can think of that sounds remotely like "Orbel" is "Corby," a fairly strong/cheap Canadian rye. I think was discontinued a year or two ago, so it might be hard to find if that's actually what you're looking for. Of course, there's "Korbel" brandy, but I'm pretty sure you're not looking for that.
