need help. Someone is using my roommates password and need to track IP

Someone is using my roommates skype and facebook accounts (passwords obviously changed now), but they sending his girlfriend stuff that hes cheating on her. He is studying abroad, so its not easy for him to explain someone is F***ing him over. How can he track who is using the accounts. I guess IP is the only way to get a general idea of whom it might be. How do we find this out?

You can change your IP at any time, so it's pretty much a lost cause. Best bet is for him to think hard about who would have the guff to do that.

The person he is dealing with most likely isnt a computer whiz that will change his IP or make a "false" IP. But narrowing down if its in chicago or spain will help.

Why not tell his GF what's going on and tell her to ignore those messages? That's not difficult. If she won't listen, then he's better off without her.

Im pretty sure thats what hes doing. But someone was on his skype account pretending to be him and had a convo with the GF about cheating on her. I think their lines of communication at this point are a little messed up because of this. They have been dating for 5 years, so its not really a let it go type situation.

Yes, she's pretty. Doesn't change my answer. Tell her what's going on and let her ignore the scam communication. After 5 years, she either trusts him or not.
