Need Some Headphone Advice. ( IPOD Shuffle )

Sign in to disble this ad
So i bought an IPOD shuffle to use at the gym while working out, and i absolutely love the little thing. I don't care for the headphones that came with it though. They sound ok and work well if you aren't running or lifting weights. Can anyone give me some advice on a good set of headphones for working out?

I was thinking about getting a set of those headphones from Apple that the shuffle plugs right into, but wasn't sure how bulky they would be. They have very good pictures of the headphones but they don't have an image loaded with the headphones on someone so it is hard to gauge size from the photos. Has anyone tried the set out that i am describing?

Thanks for the help and suggestions......

Seems like every year I buy another pair of those cheap ($15) Sony behind-the-ear headphones. They have much better fidelity than the earbuds and stick on your head, plus they're super comfortable. Recommended

+1. If you're referring to the ones that go around the back of your head. I really like them. Low price, good sound. Good enough that I can use them every day, priced at where if I leave them on the L/theater/bar-I'm not out of a lot of coin.

all the best.

Cheap, sound fine, don't come out. Unobtrusive, too. The missus has effectively stolen mine (though I'm using them as I type this). Even if they aren't perfect, for this price, you can't go wrong.

These are really good earphones that I used at the gym for over a year with GREAT results. The only reason I don't still use it is because I lost my ipod.

These are the best earphones I've ever bought. I've been using the same pair for 3 years now, and I certainly don't take it easy on them. Plus, they sound great. They were nearly $60 when I first purchased them.

I use the molded apple earbuds and they work and sound great for me. I had a par for a year and a half before I broke on of the earbuds - I spilled a root beer all over it.

+1 on the Sennheiser, I've been using their headsets and earbuds for years.

I've always used these for a while and they worked just fine, I preferred the sennheiser above for overall clarity, but these do just fine.

Also if you want something a little more stylish and retroish

These cans sound really good, I got them in white and they're really comfortable and easy to commute with

I picked up a pair of Koss KEB24 earbuds at Walmart a while ago. Koss' website has them for $26. I think I paid closer to $20 for them at Walmart, but their website is currently down so I can't double check that. They sound great to me. The rubber ear buds are extremely comfortable and help to block out background noise. I've worn them at work (in a bindery) with loud machinery running, no need to push the volume past comfortable levels at all (i.e. could still hear people talking next to me).

EDIT: Yeah, you can find them under $20 on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KEB24-Por...5375649&sr=8-9) so I'm positive the Walmart price was about $20.

watch out for the sennheiser cx 300s, i've had two pairs go faulty with the same problem in a year, right hand channel going, and replaced lots more at work (i sell them!) when they work though they're awesome sounding, perfect for the gym. i've got shure se102s at the moment, i got sick of the sennys breaking. the shure's are amazing, but pretty expensive, so maybe not the best for the gym...
