I like the sour apple. Surf green is my favorite bass color. My wife likes it, but thinks it's "girlie" looking. I didn't notice the pink cables and she might have. Do you guys think surf is "girlie" looking? I don't. Reminds me of this: | When I first looked at the 3 pics (before I saw your quoted post), my thought was Navy Blue for you and Sour Apple for your wife. I'm sure this will come off as a sexist comment, but I was thinking, "The Navy Blue looks more 'manly'; while the Sour Apple looks more "feminine". But clearly she does NOT like the Sour Apple. Ergo, get whichever ones you both like, even if they're different colors. And for the record, Surf Green is one of my all-time favorite colors on a bass or guitar, so it's not that I don't like it. I just didn't care for it on the bike...

I voted for olive green and only because the tires are black.
If you can get black tires on any of 'em, I'd then go with navy blue.
Darker colors won't show dirt as much.

It's just a bike for Christsakes! It's not something important like a bass. I'd let her win this one and pick my battles for something more important. Of course if you have already conceded that you both have to get the same color then we know who wears the pants at your house.

Colour-wise, if you both have to get the same colour I say navy blue. The olive is not the right shade of olive, and the apple green is super cool but for it to suit both of you the tan seats/wheels go super well with the navy. |

Talkbass, we need your help, as we know you know best.
And please tell me why. | Does this mean you're going to dress alike, too? |

And hey, the matching thing is my idea, not hers. But since she thinks the sour apple one is "girlie" she thinks it'll be worse if I get that, and she gets the olive. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go for the sour apple. I really don't care all that much what people think, but I also want my wife to be happy.
As for who wears the pants, we both actually do. |

| | | | 2nd one, by a longshot for me. I can't stand garish / bright bicycles, and blue ones even less, and olive is classic, subdued...TIMELESS.

Pulled the trigger on 2 new navy blue citizen Miamis. Pink cables and resale value were the deciding factors. Tried to get the sour apple with black tires and cables but it was a no go. Olive green does nothing for me, and actually started to like the manliness of the blue.
This is going to be a new experience for me as we're giving these bikes to each other for xmas. Meaning we're going to wrap em and put em under a tree and not open till xmas. Nothing different about doing with with a bike or bass for me. It's gonna be tough. 21 days till I can open the box. Even if it's delivered tomorrow. |
