I just returned home from working in illinois for 1 month. But gotta fly back tuesday for another two months..
No wonder you northerners are known for being grumpy, the weather there is miserable! I love cold temperatures, but that place is the windiest dampest darkest place I ever been.
Granted I stayed in south illinois. I did not see the sun ONE time!! Its has been cloudy the whole time I was there, raining slightly 3 times a week, not enough to get sent home just enough to make you wet. And I swear the wind blows at your face from every direction.
I was getting some serious depression probably from the lack of sunlight.
I saw more rednecks up there than I see down here! Everybody drives a brand new lifted diesel f-250 dodge or chevy 2500. Any vehicle older than 10 years has been annihilated by rust. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CAR BODY RUST!
There are absolutely NO HOUSES that seem like they were built after 1980's
And do you guys have a 70MPH speedlimit ANYWHERE? Every interstate was 65MPH..
GOD I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING BAD I SAID ABOUT LOUISIANA! SERIOUSLY HOW DO YOU GUYS PUT UP WITH IT? |

GOD I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING BAD I SAID ABOUT LOUISIANA! SERIOUSLY HOW DO YOU GUYS PUT UP WITH IT? | Yeah, it totally sucks. But I'm used to it and make do. The area I'm in is a little better than what Illinois had.
I've grown up here, so when I go somewhere else, it's a paradise it seems like. I love it here though. Very homey feel everywhere I go, and everyone knows everyone. |

I'm pretty used to it now, but it is always a pleasure to come home in the Spring or Fall, and enjoy that good weather compared to the cold that kicks in so quickly.
BTW, I live in Southern Illinois too, in the Metro East (Greater St. Louis area.)
