New book from Peter Hook Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook has written a book titled Unknown Pleasures: Inside Joy Division. Should be an interesting look into the band and the troubled life of Ian Curtis who hung himself on the eve of Joy Division's American tour. |
Thanks for the heads up... Always dug Peter Hook. 24 Hour Party People is an entertaining movie if you ever wanted to get more into Joy Division and maybe true? view of them and their transition to New Order and the whole rave scene. Entertaining movie, anyway. Not sure how true it is, but the Joy Division part of it made me smile. |
Interview with Peter here: http://www.salon.com/2013/02/06/pete..._in_his_hands/ Mostly just covering Ian Curtis and the current New Order feud. |
He's doing a book tour of the US. Just saw him Monday night. Talked for an hour then signed books plus anything else. Got a picture with him and all. Book is great. He said the Light might be in US in the Fall doing Movement and Power Corruption and Lies. Be cool if it was with the Fall. |
There was a recent article online on Spinner where Bernard Sumner rips into Peter Hook's behavior with New Order...I'm not going to link here because some non TB-friendly words are exchanged...Always dug him as a bassist in both bands. |
Just finished "Unknown Pleasures" last night. Great read! I highly recommend it to any JD/NO fan or anyone into post-punk. |
