How my people here ar negatively affected by the new system?
I had one retalitory neg. I bought a SVTpro II the guy shipped it in a rack. One rack cover didn't fit so he just stuffed it in the box. I was supposed to get the receipt for warrenty purposes. Didn't get that. One tube shorted and blew out a resistor. I had to spent an extra $300 for a fix and new set of matched tubes. He was supposed to reimburse me for tube, never did.
The guy's ebay name is MrFinchy he's out of New York.
Right now he had 9 negs but since there mostly old they don't count and he ends up with a better feedback rating. I call BS on that.
Well, my rating was 99.8%. Now with the new system it's 97.9%. I wonder if my rating will go back to 100% after 12 months?

There are some very interesting ramifications to all of this.
Ebay Power Sellers 'earn' discounts on their fees. Ebay has now turned their neutral feedbacks into negatives for the purpose of recalculating their positive feedback % and in many cases the sellers are losing their discounted fees. Also, once the feedback % reaches a certain level Paypal is holding all funds earned by the seller for 21 days. Also, since they went to their detailed seller feedback (stars) system, Paypal can also hold your funds ( earn interest for themselves) if you don't have 12 detailed (stars system) feedbacks over the past year: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...yments-outside
Interesting take on all of this is that since Meg has retired (and Bill Cobb announced his departure as well along with the launch of the new feedback rules) the new blood at eBay is looking to get rid of the 'world's mom and pop garage sale' aspect of the site to become a mega-mall clearing house for mega-vendor crap. http://seekingalpha.com/article/7817...llers-the-door

A 55 cent sheet of "little stickers", clearly described as 4" x 2" with a picture by the seller.
The buyer leaves negative feedback for the seller because "It was very small". Welcome to the new world order.
BTW... eBay now owns between 20%-30% of Craigslist and is trying to take it over as well...

Gotta love eBay.

I almost died laughing at this neg posted.
Totally unprofessional and crass. I pity his wife.
Follow-up by seller:
Your welcome to come get her, she's a pain in the a$$"

Gotta love eBay. | Under the new system those feedbacks will drop off after one year, and you'll be back to 100% assuming that you can maintain perfect feedback selling under the new rules (AS IF).
How many times have we put something up for sale here or elsewhere and it turns into "last price drop / PLEASE don't make me eBay this" because you know every nut-job in the universe is out there? Now the nut-jobs can do their thing with impunity.

That disturbs me to know eBay is trying to take over craigslist. I guess someone better get on the horse right now and start developing the "new" craigslist.

With this new system, I got my rating restored to 100%.
I like.
But, I'm staying away from eBay stores. I still would buy from a private seller if all checks out, but I try to stay away from Power Sellers and stores. |

But...I did just sell a power amp for much more than I was getting offered here or Craigslist. I'll use ebay to sell, but only as a last recourse.
