New George Lucas Movie should kick much butt!

I'd read a while ago that this was in development.

I'm a big fan of the Tuskegee Airmen story and I hope George does it justice.

Oh come on, don't say that. I have faith that Lucas is more than capable of creating a 5 or 6 couric turd if he set his mind or CG effects budget to it.

Watched both trailers in HD and it definitely looks like it's all CG and green screen. :sigh: I miss practical effects; why couldn't he have blown up scale models instead? It seriously looks so much better.

Ok, I didnt take his CG effects team into consideration, he might get up to 9 or 10 courics if he gives them enough caffeine (read: hookers & blow).

After looking this flick up on Wikipedia, the one and only thing it has going for it is Bryan Cranston, and as great an actor as he is, he can't save this turd.

I haven't seen the trailer. Bryan Cranston + the Tuskegee story gives me hope. I won't watch the trailer any time soon, for fear of it being runed for me

From the cast listing, Cranston did not appear to be in any of the lead roles, so no hope from me.

i lost all respect for Lucas when i found out the guy who wore the Vader suit in return of the jedi, STILL has never been paid for his work on the film. why? because of the way lucasfilm distribution estimated its costs. according to them the film is still at a loss! therefore no pay.

this is actually standard practice in hollywood, just read a great article called "6 things hollywood doesnt want you to know."

My guess is the only reason Lucas made this movie is his advisors told him a tear-jerker about Black American heroes would be a "sure thing" in terms of box office and DVD rentals, keeping his cash machine rolling.

I've met a few of them on several occasions and could not agree more. I just hope that this movie does them the credit that they deserve.

He did

However, his main role is executive producer, but he did get to direct the re-shoots.

I'm sure it does sound racist.

From the responses to the film it was a waste of the op's time.

The op was hoping that people would be interested in seeing a film about black air men and their contribution to a country that really had no concern for them. But he gets a nice share of Lucas critics and the we really need the super white actor to save a black film hero to come in and save the day for this film to really come out on top.

Is there really only one actor in this film?

Racism and reactions aside, I hope GL doesn't kill this.

Wasn't there a miniseries about this a few years back?

Something like Fly Boys was pretty lame, although GL didn't direct it. Memphis Belle was directed alright, but not historically accurate. Band of Brothers seemed to be one of the better attempts.
