Every computer around here has updated to the new Microsoft Word 2007. This new program is horrible. I always thought the point of upgrading a program is to make it better and easier to use. What the hell were they thinking when they designed this? The old version is much much better.
And screw Abobe CS3 while I'm at it too. I work on a project in InDesign, the lab closes, so I go to the 24-hour lab to finish it up, but they only have CS2, and now my file won't open. What the hell were they thinking when they made it this way? Extremly DUMB idea to not have compatable program usage. |

For starters the toolbar has disappeared - well not quite - just very well hidden. Excel 2007 is just as bad. I've got used to to it somewhat now - but new certainly - improved? hardly |

I have spent the last 15 minutes trying to figure out how to PRINT my frickin' document.
Usually you just go to File<print, but there is no File menu! |

Why would you change the standard "save as .doc' to another format?? My band leader sent me some set lists in some strange format that I could not open. When I ask what program she used, she said Microsoft Word! |

I believe billy boy was redesigning to make it easier to use....but in a redesign, your gonna have to change the way you do things a little....
I haven't actually used it yet, although i did have to print a document once on it, and it did take me a good 2 minutes to find the word "print". but once i saw it, i realized that they now had three different options for print, quick print, blah print, and something else...i didn't pay attention. but quick print did work a lot better than print on 2003.
give it some time. Once you are used to it, you'll wonder how you ever got along with out it.
Billy is getting a little resource heavy though....2gb of RAM for vista?

[/geek] | That's fine but how many people are using Word 2007? I had no program to open it. I had to ask her to resave it as a .doc and resend it to me. I'm not spending $149 for a program I rarely use at home.
*Edit. I see there is a free Word 2007 Viewer available.
