Thanks for posting this.

The media is defined by sensationalism.

Sensationalism or not, initiatives to be cleaner and greener need to continue, that said, I wonder how Gorebot will address this lil nugget...

Including the headline of this story, perhaps. I want to read the actual report first, not Forbes' interpretation. Steve Forbes' feelings on this subject are obvious...

ETA: Forget Steve Forbes, the author of this "news" article is part of a right-wing think tank promoting "free-market solutions" regarding the environment.

I didn't know NASA was a "right wing think tank".

Look you may disagree with the author, but in this case the author is clearly doing what good journalist do. He is linking to his data, if you disagree with him go back to the NASA study look at the evidence and make your case.

When the UN erased the Medieval Warming Period in their last brochure I smelled something foul. The smell lingers.

James M. Taylor is senior fellow for environment policy at The Heartland Institute and managing editor of Environment & Climate News.

Got it now?

I knew global warming was a hoax!!

Man could never impact the ecosystem of the planet.

Acid rain was a media manipulated hoax too!! Never mind all those dead lakes devoid of plantlife & fish in the Adirondacks.

Fun with F3: The author used the word "alarmist" 13 times.

I agree completely and I didn't imply that we shouldn't pursue a cleaner, greener society. But, media sensationalism IS out of control and unfortunately our world society is too dependent on the easy, force fed fix found on the boob tube. I would imagine "Gorebot" will still continue to preach his agenda, but continue to have is infamously large power bills. I've heard from $3000-$30000 depending on what source you read.

Hopefully this means we can go back to regular old light bulbs instead of these new fluorescent ones that make your home look like a department store.

That said, I'm skeptical of NASA's findings. Last time I checked they were in desperate need of funding. I'll have to check their facts and figures before I believe anything, even from them.

A way old nickname for Al Gore. I didn't coin it, I just find it amusing.

I'm a scientist at heart. I'm skeptical of everything

And +1 to your earlier post. I've always said that even if Global Warming were found to be wrong there were still plenty of incentives for us to move towards alternative forms of energy. Unfortunately, a lot of people disagree with this stance

When that next significant energy breakthrough comes around, we'll move to another energy source or sources. That will happen with or without all of our wonderful green intentions.

And what would you call it? After Gore's MMGW speech in 92 he went around the country scarring the hell out of elementary students which was just deplorable. In light of climategate, all manipulated data by shady climatologists, and all the "crisis" propaganda put out by the MSM; I'm glad this new information came out by NASA.
