just listened to it after aquiring it by completely legal means ... i like their more mainstream stuff... this is ok... kinda sounds jumbled in parts (intro verse i think), like they just each came up with a part and put them together... dont exactly seem to fit... but other parts are really nice... cool song nonetheless

I really enjoy how corey doesnt sound like a mongoloid, and how mick has a good solo.

It's horrrrrrrible. Even my girlfriend, who has been a Slipknot fan for a VERY long time said it was garbage. What ever happened to the slight bit of originality in Slipknot? This sounds like every other metal song out there.

just looked it up... not really a fan of it.

i'd much rather listen to anything from their first cd, which is their best work...

but atleast it's not acoustic like vermillion pt 2

The drumming and guitar solo was cool. Actually all the guitar work was cool. Although it wasn't anything special. Me and a friend had something like this going on off the top of our heads earlier today. The vocals sucked, what happened to the old vocals? They used to have killer vocals.

lowsound

I never thought there was anything original about Slipknot which is one of the reasons why I never liked them in the first place.

Eh, it's not my favorite song of theirs. It's good, but eh.

I like their stuff for the most part. I think sic & duality are my favorite songs that they play.

Whether you like them or not, I don't see how you can say that Slipknot wasn't original (especially 10 years ago) in the world of metal.

Not bad. I like the riff they end it with, and Jordison is a friggin monster. I'm just kinda sick of the vocals though.

I remember the first time I ever saw them in San Fransisco in 1999, they put on an awesome show.

I wasn't a fan of the vocals, drums are decent for the most part, IMO he is overplaying the snare on the verses and it doesn't fit the song, and didn't like the guitar solo. If this is an indicator of the rest of the album, I might not pick it up the day it comes out.

I used to like slipknot when they were new, and I was young. They don't really hold my attention anymore, the solo didn't do anything IMHO, he played some fast notes... So what ? Make something musical about them, shredding like that is boring.

I appreciate a lot of metal both new and old. And while I don't support them as such, I do like a lot of Slipknots' songs.

But that song sounded like disorganised noise.

We'll see what happens when the album comes out. I didn't like every song on Vol 3 either, some of them were pretty weird and didn't catch my interest, but I loved 2/3 of Vol 3. I still have high hopes for this new album.

Would you care to elaborate? It isn't that I disagree with you, but I do not listen to enough metal to compare them to others in originality.
