Sign in to disble this ad
So GTa4 is coming out on tuesday. and im wondering if its time to buy a new TV. My current set is ancient its 22 years old, 2 years older than me. i was thinking of getting this on buy now pay 9 months;

Panasonic are a really solid brand and its at a decent price. so should i keep going with my current tv untill it breaks (which is likely to be never it works like new).

should i buy is there a better set should i spend it elsewhere.

I had a 16 year old mitsubishi 27" and traded it in (gave it away) for a 32 Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV (paid about $650 at costco).

JUST SWITCHING TO THE LCD doubled my regular sharpness of dvds and my xbox 360!!! then I hooked up the component videocables RGB and got a little more sharpness on the video game.

I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting a newer LCD HDTV. if I were to do it all over again I'd get a SONY LCD if I could swing the price...

p.s. tried Vizio 32, but didn't like the "colors", they never looked real.

pps... I'm also waiting on tuesday for GTA4. I'm not huge into the violence or shootem' up, but love to explore the sandbox worlds of gta...

at comet where i work the panasonics look great. my main problem is getting it on finance. i know i can pay it off it 2-3 months easily ,y mum says i shouldnt get in to debt tho and i kinda agree, incase i buy more items on finance and debts get bigger.

try a dvd player with HDMI upscaling it really brings out the clarity there an a/b test at work same tv same settings, but ones using a scart and the others on HDMI the colours are less grey the image is clearer.

I've got a Sharp Aquos. The 360 looks amazing on this TV, especially when you use the componant cables.
You've gotta see it to believe it, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion looks wicked.

I'm busting for GTA4 too, can't wait to go on rampages again, steal cars, pick up hookers and then run them over and get your money back.

Good times.

I was looking at new TV's for GTA4 a couple of months ago before school got hectic... Panasonic seems to get great reviews for the price. I'm not buying the game until I decide on a TV though... its a waste to play it on standard def.
