New Year's Resolutions?

I'm not big on them, but Twenty Thirteen is going to be here before you know it, anyone given any thought to New Year's Resolutions?

There are a number of things I'd like to change in the new year, but this just popped in my head so I thought for my first one;

I plan on making better use of this great forum and learn more about music and improving my playing skills.

What are yours?

Begin going to college. And full time at that. I figure it will have been over 9 years since I left high school, so it's about time.

Peace,
Greg

Well, I've kept both of mine this year.

I lost almost 40 pounds before I hurt my back (30 now after my lengthy time off), and I've managed to quit smoking. I'd say 2012 was a net win.

Now if only the world doesn't end...

I resolve to be a lot more sarcastic and hard to get along with in 2013.

I was on track losing weight awhile back and lost over 16 lbs. My main goal was to lose over 20 lbs. Then, I got lazy and gained about 6 lbs. back. I'm a night snack monster.
I'm going to try to reach my original target goal of losing 20 lbs so that's about 10 lbs, or simpler to say, get below 170 lbs.

I'd like to make a good start to my Honours year of my degree and also stop smoking buds all year. I think these two will correlate. Oh, spend more time playing music with others, too!

Already started on mine: no taking crap gigs for not enough money. Example: this week I turned down a 3 week road trip for $1000, and a 4.5 week trip for $1500. I'd rather not work than be taken advantage of.

I should add that I've played most of the venues on both of these runs, and I know for a fact they pay more than what each of these guys are letting on.

I have a few weeks to finish up my 2012 resolutions, but I'm getting there.

For 2013:
1. Add 50-100lbs on each of the major lifts (squat, deadlift, press, bench). This includes squatting 500lbs for reps, and deadlifting 550 or more for reps. I'd like to be able to press body weight (currently 257)

2. Make a baby with my wife.

3. Pay off my wife's VW Jetta TDI wagon so I can purchase one for myself.

4. Pay ~$6K additional on the mortgage (above what we pay every month).

5. Reduce body fat to get into 242lb class & compete in a powerlifting meet.

6. Be able to tear a deck of cards or a phonebook with my hands.

7. Play bass at least 2 hours per week.

That should do it - now to make them happen...

GTFO of my parents house. That shouldnt be too difficult once my DUI is paid off.

Travel more.

I cant think of much else, because I dont wait for the end of the year to make resolutions for the next.
Im human, I adapt as I go. Ive already conquered the big one, quit smoking, so I'll just have to keep that up.

Clean up my pad. Give all the clothes I won't use anymore to thrift stores. Throw out about 20 years' worth of old computer magazines.

Drop the excess weight I've piled on over the past few years.

Though not so much of a new years resolution, more of a "finished studying" resolution.

Be happy. Lots of ways to do that, so I'm going for the general sentiment this year.
