Going out to Wyoming this summer. I taking my family on vacation to the Teton Wagon Train. We will be camping for a few days riding horses and swimming in lakes. We will be eating out of a chuck wagon. Just being cowboys. Any one here live out west? Colorado, Montana, Utah, The Dakotas?

I live in Colorado just south of Wyoming. Lovely state in the NW corner where you'll be visiting. Much of the other three-quarters of the state is high altitude prairie - not much there unless you enjoy REALLY wide open spaces. Bring a warm jacket for night - when the sun goes down, the temperature starts dropping and there's no humidity to hold the heat.

Sounds like great fun. I spent some time in Longmont last winter. It's north of Denver. I wanted to go check out Colorado State University since a couple NFL players I like went there, so we made a day trip to Fort Collins. Very cool town.

I predict nothing but good times for you city folk. I have visions of the movie City Slickers when I think of you and your family coming out west.

That sounds pretty sweet. The area is beautiful.

Good luck with that!

MJ5150,

this trip will either induce a "City Slickers" trip or put the kabosh on it. I want to move cattle so bad.

Pilgrim and Atoz, I heard about the temperature drop at night. A 75 degree day can turn into a 40 degree night. Is that right?

Bring a video camera and a nice digital camera. None of this "sorry for the poor picture quality, I had to use the camera on my cell phone" rubbish.

You are going to be required to provide us daily pictures and videos from the trail. Wait, do cattle moving cowboys upload digital images every night after eating their cornbread and chili?

Heck, in the desert where I work, a 90 degree day can turn into a 40 degree night!
