The Casey Anthony story is tragic. I do however think that our news media is so out of control at times that I go on multiple sites and different channels now just to cross reference the false reporting that many stations do. And yhis was the topper for me. Mark Furhman, a proven and convicted perjurer, who had to retire from the LAPD for said crime, hired on as "special consultative" to a news program to talk about evidence and "frame of mind" of the accused.

Here in New England it's on 24/7, and it's all over the place in the local media. I've got a feeling this summer is going to be Whitey's trial on all channels all the time!

She's an isolated court case that has absolutely no bearing on any of our lives in any meaningful way. There are far more important discussions that her trial is displacing and there should be collective outrage we're being denied those.

I think the intelligence level of most (not all) TalkBass users is considerably higher than that of most of the nation's Television Audience. Give them "Survivor", "American Idol", MTV, and convince them that the Casey Anthony story is the biggest news story of the day and they will never notice that their freedoms are being taken away, The Constitution of the United States is being disregarded and destroyed, and the Federal Government is controlling their life WAYYYYYYYY more than it should.
