I guess we've all heard of those misguided branding exercises and marketing failures that crop up.
Like trying to market a car called a Nova into a spanish speaking market (Doesn't Go), or the Pepsi tag line ‘Come alive with the Pepsi Generation’ translated to ‘Pepsi will bring your ancestors back from the dead’ in Taiwan. Or that a Ford Pinto translated to 'Ford Small Penis' in Brazil and so on....
I guess translation mistakes are sort of understandable but when the marketeers appear to be English speakers ???
I just went onto Youtube to listen to some stuff my band wants to put on the set list and came across this new marketing campaign
LoverdoseDiesel's Channel - YouTube
I still can't make out whether it's a belated April 1st spoof, because here in the UK getting a dose from your lover means they just passed on a sexually transmitted disease....Nice!
