Next tattoo idea (bass related)...

Sign in to disble this ad
So I want a second tattoo, and I want it to be bass related somehow. Seems cliche to get a bass clef, but I don't really care, I plan on incorporating several clefs into some sort of geometric design. My hope is to create a "triskelion" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triskelion - I had to look it up to know what that symbol was called) out of bass clefs. I attached a rough mockup but keep in mind it was done in Windows Paint so it's kind of uneven and messy, but you get the idea. Obviously I'll have the artist draw an even, geometrically correct one This will be larger, and on my right calf. This is just an idea for the artist to run with - I believe in artists adding their own touch so hopefully he'll embellish it or add a couple other touches. Would appreciate your input!

Looks pretty cool

I've just got a plain ol' bass cleff curving around my knee

IMHO, I would have it with a celtic knot border, or some sort of border, flames, tribal or anything that would allow it to be captured by the eye and stand out. My feeling is that, as is, unless it's HUGE, it will be "lost" on open skin. Just my opinion.

Being mostly a thin line and all black tattoo, I would surround it with something. Even if it was something similar with a cirlce around it, it might stand alone. Being open like that........I'd put something around it.

Just another thought, if you made it pretty large, it would be a pretty sweet elbow tattoo

Having had a little work on my knee, I'm assuming it is pretty comparable pain wise. My other knee and elbows are being left flesh coloured

It felt like someone was shooting a nail gun into my elbow. Also, up under my arm almost into my armpit wasn't fun either

+1 My first thought, not to be an ass, without looking at your user name was "I hope you are a girl".

Typing *as* a girl, yeah... it looks girly. But I'm also allowed (b/c I'm a girl) to say, "That's so cool!"

Because it is. I like that tattoo idea quite a lot.

Freakin' sweet, it's well designed... but comes across as too feminine, its the curves of the celf and hard to avoid.

Also like someone mentioned it would cool if it was put against something, or even just a fade/glow effect.

To the OP.

Your design is not really good IMO.

And I am saying this as someone who has been around tattoos quite a bit in his life & has about 60 hours of work done on my body.

My 2 cents.
