It was a fun season this year guys. Hats off to the Saints and Gard - what a great Superbowl and a nice way to end the season, not having to trod through one more week of probowl talk and the like. Great story there and everything. I was happy the Pack got as far as it did - I think they will be a force to reckon with this upcoming season if Ted can reach into the pocket a little and shore up the O line and the secondary. Was happy to see Brent FAIL. Glad we don't have to go through the "will he/won't he" conversation.
The draft is only a couple months away, and the first pre-season game is only some 5 months off. Of course the big story in the ensuing months is going to be the CBA and what shakes out in terms of salary cap yes/no or player lockout. I just hope we get to talk football this fall. |

As for my Steelers, many of Tomlin's weaknesses as a HC were exposed this go around, and too many players on both sides of the ball took the season off so to speak. I think I'll learn quite a bit about Tomlin this coming season.
I'm sad to see the NFL season end, but it will be back before I know it.

Dolphins will make the playoffs in wildcard.
Texans will make their first playoffs appearance ever.
Bears will win NFC North after a disappointing season.
Bill Cohwer is back coaching a team.
Titans offense will be more balanced as teams key in more on Chris Johnson (who still will have +1500 yards rushing)
LT will have a great comeback season.
Severe damage is done to Brett Favre's already damaged shoulder.
Bengals will be surprisingly good again, but will miss the playoffs, again.
Rams have another awful year - even with my prediction of them drafting Tebow (QB who's looking to get the job done, but can still be mobile to get away since the Rams have no Oline)
and last but not least...
Gard will still be as zealous for the Saints as ever!

i'm going to add a couple random predictions*:
-the falcons will challenge for supremecy in the NFC south with the superbowl hungover saints (which will probably be the first superbowl hangover that wasn't just a metaphor )
-the AFC East will be wide open, with three teams finishing with 9 wins (hint: one won't be the bills)
-the san francisco 49ers will win the NFC west
-the cincinnati bengals will lose at least 8 games *all predictions null and void on septemeber 1st

As for predictions:
Tebow won't be in St. Louis unless he drops to the 2nd round, they'll take Suh - they'd be stupid to do anything else. That said, I don't see Tebow being taken in the 1st round, so...he may end up there. Can't say that won't make me happy, because I can't stand the dude.
Saints, barring injury or something really stupid happening in FA, repeat as NFC South Champs, the first team to do so since realignment. The Saints are built for more than one good year. Falcons will be better next year, expect them to make it as a wildcard; Tampa Bay will continue to be irrelevant; Carolina will join them (losing Peppers, losing Delhomme, losing Smith).
Steelers rebound and win the AFC North.
Pats continue to slide out of contention, Dolphins begin to show signs of being relevant again, dogfight between Jets & Dolphins for the AFC East. Pats miss the playoffs.
Vikings fade in the NFC North, Bears show signs of life, Green Bay wins the division.
Every team in the NFC East ends 0-16....one can dream, can't we?
bassman03 is 1000% correct on ONE prediction: I will remain the most annoying, obnoxious, irritating, rabid Saints fan at TB or anywhere else.

Two predictions for next year;
1. The NFC Championship will be between NOLA and Dallas.
2. Dallas will be the first team in league history to Play/Host a Super Bowl at home.
ESPECIALLY WITH AN UNCAPPED YEAR!
Don't be crazy enough to let Jerry loose with an untethered checkbook, HE WILL PAY THE $ WITHOUT A DOUBT. Even all you Cowboy haters know this.
It's been a blast guys!
God Bless, Ray

Biggest Surprise: Saints (Duh)
Biggest Disappointment: Colts

Biggest "Fuzzy Feeling" story: Drew Brees
Most Underutilized Player: LT
Most Overutilized Player: Kyle Orten
Most Underperforming Player: JaMarcus Russell
Most Obnoxious Coach: Tom Cable
Next Season (If there is a next season):
Chargers will continue to give their fans ulcers
Saints will continue to roll
LT will be traded
Pats will continue there mysterious decline
There WILL be a salary cap (or the season is off)
JaMarcus Russell will be a thing of the past (as well as the previously mentioned Tom Cable)
LA will get a team (probably Jaguars)
And Finally: The Super Bowl half time shows will continue to suck

God Bless, Ray | I'll be quick to admit I know just enough to be dangerous on this subject. So you have been warned.......
The uncapped year isn't really uncapped. And it's even less "uncapped" for the "final eight". The teams that made it to the divisional round of the playoffs are operating under different rules than the rest of the league.

I see cutler having a very good year. And i see Aromashadu becoming a key player this year as he started breaking out the last couple games of the year.

#1 As a Saints fan my whole life and living in Lafayette, La until age 19 (when i joined the military) I am shocked that the saints finally did it. Makes me rethink where I want to "settle down"
#2 New England, Pittsburg, Miami and Tennessee not as good as I expected
#3 Jets and Bengals better than I expected
#4 Brett Farve still has it
Next season questions.......Chad Pennington still starter? T.O retiring? Brett Farve retiring? Houston make playoffs? Jacksonville, St Louis or both in L.A.? Mcnabb injury prone again? Why don't the Panthers get Vick? Ladanian who? San Fran return to playoffs? Overtime rule change? |

Despite what one might think, you can buy a lot of talent, but you cannot buy a TEAM. If anyone doubts this, go ask Daniel Snyder.
Further evidence, check out the total roster salary for the team that just won the Super Bowl, which did indeed act as a TEAM this season.
It takes a TEAM to win a SB, not a bunch of random talent, no matter how high-priced. BOTH is the best course of action, of course.
