OK, this is the thread to discuss the idiots of the NFL..........

you know, the ones that can't stay out of jail, can't handle their own personal lives, the ones that just don't get it!

I just read that the NY Giants Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg last night, so I'll put him at the top of the list, just for fun. Boy am I glad he's no longer a Steeler!

Here's my initial nominations........who have I forgotten?

OJ Simpson - getting aquitted on double murder charges but will spend the rest of his life in jail for stealing his own stuff back.

Ray Carruth - Hiding in a trunk of a car after having your girlfriend killed because you got her pregnant.

Nate Newton - Arrested twice within a year period for transporting kilos of weed after playing in the NFL for like 15 years.

Leon Lett, and anybody else who starts showboating BEFORE they make it into the end zone.

Anthony Smith of the Steelers. (I grew up near Pittsburgh, and have always been a Steelers fan.) Last year, he "guaranteed" a victory over the Patriots. Brady made him look like a schoolboy the entire game, which the Steelers lost. So with the Patriot game coming up this year, somebody asked him about last year's guarantee. Smith says he wouldn't do anything differently, and basically said the Steelers will win this weekend. I'm all for confidence, but not stupidity. The young man just doesn't learn...

Lawrence Phillips. A really talented tailback from Nebraska who was allowed to slide after assaulting a woman in college, and then went on to do the same while in the NFL. Various other crimes, too, he's still doing time.

A big +1 on Michael Vick. Here's a guy who had it all..and threw it away on the basest form of stupidity and cruelty. What a dope!
