My favorite bit: the 18 game season is what the FANS want.
...uh, no, not really. We just want you all to get real and not screw up our favorite sport...

Maybe I missed something, but have any active players come out and said they would like to play 18 regular season games?

Truth is as a fan I'd rather see 18 games that mattered rather than 4 preseason games just so someone can be "evaluated".
The fans want less BS calls/Ignorant Rules you can't challenge and more real football. Least I do.
God Bless, Ray

With 2 firsts, 2 seconds and 2 thirds the Patriots should get younger, faster and, with an expected rookie wage scale in the new CBA, cheaper. Pats are set up to be the team of the next decade, too.

I'm not writing them off, they're absolutely still capable of winning an SB over the next 2-3 years if Brady stays healthy and doesn't drop off much. But they have a LOT to do to set themselves up as the team of the next decade.
The Packers just won the title with key guys out, and they're young. The Steelers are 2-1 in the SB over the past 6 years, and Roethlisberger (no, I don't like him, either) is 5 years younger than Brady. Both teams have an edge over the Pats right now.

Can't say I am surprised. This seems more like a move to appeal to the VY side of the split fanbase than anything. Will be interesting to see if the frotn office stick to their guns, or keeps VY after all.

But it would be cool to have the Pouncey brothers side-by-side at Center & Guard. And Mike could play Center if Maurkice was injured.
But we need a lot of help, both on the O-line and in the secondary.

-Mike | If he's going to be drafted as a guard (as I assume, given his snapping issues), it's pretty rare to see guards go in the first round, isn't it? I would think he'd be there. And it would be really cool to have them side-by-side again.

McCarthy is a big proponent of letting guys advance their careers, but he also has the final say on who can be spoken to and who can't while they are under contract. I think Capers will be sticking around. |
