I guess that on the NFC side I'd like to see the Falcons over the Cards, the Vikings over the Eagles. That would set up a Giants/Falcons & Vikings/Panthers match-up, likely leading to another very hard Giants/Panthers game for SB rights ...
In the AFC, Colts over the Chargers, Dolphins over the Ravens (though that's highly doubtful). Sets up a Steelers/Dolphins & Colts/Titans, probably leading to another (again) very hard Steelers/Titans game for SB trip ....
Gotta figure the Giants, Panthers, Steelers, Titans got all the juice from this point forward ..... |

No way the Dolphins beat the Ravens, no way.

I'm still trying to decide the better route for the Steelers........Colts, Titans, Ravens......all tough opponents.....there is no easy road in the AFC. |

I think I'd prefer Baltimore, behind them Tennessee (I'm convinced that loss was a fluke), and lastly Indy. They are hot as hell now.

They beat us once at Heinz already. Peyton is the best QB in the NFL right now, in my opinion.
We'll handle the Ravens, I'm not worried about that.
As for the Titans, I'm with Eric. Tennessee is a good team, but we gave it away too many times. We win in Nashville if we have to play them again.
So how about it......whaddya say we have a mini-GTG in Tampa should the Steelers make it? I got a coupon for a free round trip ticket, and friends in Tampa to stay with. I know I won't get into the game, but we can watch it at a bar somewhere.

-Mike | My dad is a hard core Giants fan. If by some chance the SB is a NY/Pittsburgh game, I'm secretly flying in to surprise my dad for the game.

If we could beat the Colts, the Titans, and then the Giants in the SB. Payback for three of the four teams that got us this season, kind of like how 2005 went down.
Revenge Tour Part II.

I don't really see that loss as a fluke. The Titans just flat out-played us, and they didn't even have their two best D-Linemen in there. We could not run the ball at all, and they could.
I do think the Steelers would be fired up over the Lendale White/Keith Bullock incident with the Terrible Towel, so that might help. But in order to get to the Titans, we're going to have to get past Indy or San Diego, neither of which will be easy. One thing about Peyton and the Colts: If they come back to Pittsburgh, they will be on a long-ass winning streak (9 games?!). Maybe we'll have the law of averages on our side!

There were a few worthy candidates this season. I got no problem with Peyton winning it, even though I don't like him since he is a Vol.

I think that the Dolphins O-line is going to have to win the line of scrimmage (iffy)...if they can keep time of possession on their side and not turn the ball over, plus maybe a big special teams play, I think they might do it...

Remember the playoff game against the Giants a few years back where they absolutely self destructed and got destroyed? Defensive players were fighting with each other on the field. I giggled so hard it was almost like a Packer win. |

Colts 27
Chargers 17
Dolphins 10
Ravens 17
Falcons 13
Cardinals 17
Eagles 24
Vikings 17
No way the Colts lose, they're too hot, Manning is just on fire.
Dolphins can't handle the Ravens D, bummer, because I'd love to see them at least get one more week to play for Pennington.
Falcons can't keep it up, Cards get their first post season win in decades, play one more week (then get spanked next weekend).
Vikes just don't belong in the post season (then again, no one else in the NFC North did, so I guess they had to send someone).

I'm sure he'll gleefully take all the credit for this, and then try and pass off blame on someone else if they get knocked out of the playoffs. There's a hysterical video on YouTube of Manning during post-game blaming others for his own screwups, with funny dialog shown, and a baby crying in the background. Perfect Manning, IMO.
As for picks, I'm right there with Gard. I'd prefer a Miami, San Diego, and Minnesota win, but it's not real probable!

It's going to be the league's hottest passing team vs. one of the league's worst pass defenses. It's also going to be the team that can destroy you with the running game vs. one of the league's worst rush defenses.
I definitely expect a tight game between these two. When these teams last met, Indy was in the middle of their 9 game win streak (SD was win #4 on that streak) and SD was in the middle of a three game skid (PIT, IND and ATL) prior to their 4 game streak to finish out the season. That game ended on a Vintateri FG as time ran out after SD closed a 10 point gap in the 4th quarter.
As far as the other games go...
ATL vs. AZ: I can see this going either way. Michael Turner or Matt Ryan and Roddy White (or both) could go nuts. On the flip side, Kurt Warner has completely taken over a few games this season. I would expect BAL to beat MIA and PHI to beat MIN, but I'm definitely not taking any games this opening playoff weekend for granted.
