I never thought Pack would've got this far with 14 guys on IR and 10 new starters, including rookies at LB, running back, cornerback, right tackle and 2 rookie tight ends starting. If nothing else, it bodes well for the next few years. But it's hella amazing these guys contributed to pulling off what some think was an upset.
McCarthy needs to put teams away. Personally, I was happy with all the runs, when we haven't had a run game all season. But for cripe's sake, don't get all conservative with the game on the line. At your own 2 yd line, yes! At your own 46? No! Put the damn opponent away. And start running something different on 3rd and short. That 3 back set with Kuhn is soooo predictable now. All the D has to do is focus on Kuhn and 4th down it is.
Dirty Birds are the #1 seed for good reason. We played them tough once. I always think it's tough to beat any team twice in a row, especially when you've played them once before already this season.
Obviously we have to focus on containing Turner, which we didn't earlier this year, and Roddy White, who we did. With Cullen Jenkins healthy on the line and a fast LC corps, and with Woodson not having to hawk Vick, we should do a better job.
Atlanta's secondary is vulnerable. I see more of an air attack against them, lulling Atlanta early on that we are going to be run happy again. But no doubt they are solid on both sides of the ball and "well coached".
A TD wins it for the Pack
Pack 24
Atlanta 17
And while we're at it:
Seattle over Chicago
NYJ over Pats
Baltimore over Pitts

This week comin'...
Falcons (I like both teams, so I'm cool either way)
Patriots (I would LOVE to see the Jets win, but I think it's highly improbable!)
Bears (I seriously loathe Jay Cutler and the Bears, and hope the 'Hawks have a bit more fight in them to smack his ugly mouf closed!)
Steelers (Not much of a Steeler fan anymore, but I HATE the Ravens!

Also on the pseudo bandwagon for the Jets ... what the heck, they're a local team. And they got rid of the Colts, who I am also tired of seeing
Packers beating the Falcons by a FG
The Bears over the Seahawks by 10
Steelers knock out the Ravens by a bunch
Upset special, Jets slip by the Pats ..... and, BTW, the Giants still stink ..... |

It would be great to watch Seattle win in Chicago again this season.
Green Bay has to beat Atlanta. That way Seattle can host the NFCCG.
I'd like the Jets to win so the Steelers can host the AFCCG, but I'm not so sure that will happen.

Pittsburgh over Baltimore. We've already proven that we can beat these guys. We're also already lost to them. However, having seen them twice during the normal season, I think we'll learn from our mistakes, and remember what did us well. Also, we're at home, for you home-team-means-squat fanatics. Defensive battle, not many on the board, but we'll put more up than them .
Damn do I want to pick the Jets over the Pats. That 45-3 loss is hard to forget, especially only being a month ago now. I think that the Pats pretty much picked apart the Jets' D with ease. As much as I'd like to pick this as an upset, I just don't see it happening for them in Foxborough. Pats by a medium sized pile of points.
Green Bay over the Falcons. They lost to them in the regular season, but it's pretty obvious that the Packers are peaking at the right time, even on the road. Packers, but not by much.
Seattle / Chicago... what the heck, I don't follow either of these teams in the least, so I'm going for upset special #2 and pick Seattle for the win. They have nothing to lose, are pumped up from a Win over the Saints, and will lay it all on the line again. Seattle, comfortably, wins. |

Over at the Cold Hard Football Facts they have a rule of thumb - if a QB gives up two or more interceptions, then that almost guarantees a loss for that team. I've been following this maxim all season whenever I watch a game, and is almost always true. Why did the Patriots finish 14-2 and the #1 seed? It's not the fact that they score more points than anyone else. It's because Brady has been intercepted only 4 times, and the Pats as a team are a +28 in the turnover department. The Pats simply don't beat themselves. Do you honestly think the Pats are going to suddenly turn into the Carolina Panthers because they're in the playoffs and the Jetz are their opponents? I'll tell you all one thing - the Jetz will have to play the game of their lives to have a hope in hell of beating the Pats!
Patriots 30
Jets 10

Jets over Pats. Gotta pull for Rex and that way the championship game can be held in Baltimore!

My dog is outta the fight, but hey the DOG KILLER is too (loved that stupid interception to end the game - typical sVick dumb move), so all is not lost....
...picks:
Seattle over Chicago - just because. (hey, they beat MY team, so I hope they beat someone else, just one more... )
Pats over Jets - Jets, it ain't gonna happen. Not on their home field. Not even on YOUR home field.
Steelers over Ravens - should be a great defensive game, but edge to Steelers being at home.
Packers over Falcons - that whole "home field invincibility" thing, smoke and mirrors, Packers are flat a better team, peaking at just the right time, and will prove it.

The gig I have this coming Saturday night is supposed to start at 9:00, but because it's a bar gig and the Packers are on at 7:00, the bar owner informed us we will not be required to start playing until after the game is over (same pay)!!!
Whoo-hoo! If the Pack wins we will be entertaining some people ready to PARTY!
I'm planning on a party . We played Atlanta close last time without a running game. Watch out for Starks. Close game but should be a win for the Packers!
Packers 28
Falcons 21
I also pick the Bears over Seahawks (gotta get a Packers/Bears NFC Championship game...EPIC baby!).
Pats over the Jets
Steelers over the Ravens

I think the Baltimore-Pittsburgh game is going to be ugly... B-more squeaks by.
As much as I can't stand the Pats (do respect them though), I don't see the Jets making it by them. The Pats are lethal.
Pack over the Falcons
I'd like to see the Seahawks beat Chicago. People like seeing an underdog beat the odds. But in reality I think da Bears are going to come out with the win here.
