As for the AFC, I hope the Jets win. I do not like Peyton Manning since he is a Vol. Yes, I did explain why since I don't want any of the Colt fans coming in here and trying to bust my chops for not liking their team. It typically starts with some "you just like to hate the Colts" BS.

Saints over Vikings
Jets over Indy

-Mike | In my explanation as to why Manning is a hack in the other thread, I totally forgot to mention that the jerk is a Vol.
Go Gators!

But I'd like to see the Vikes get beat simply because I'm sick and tired of seeing my older brother wearing his idiotic viking cap with the braids attached. (below) ....
Not a Jets fan, not a Colts fan .... still, I'd guess I'd like to see the Jets squeak through to the SB, then get slapped. It'll make things much more entertaining in the local media here, especially when they start predicting that "next year will be the J-E-T-S year", only to have Gang Green spiral on downward again.
All of this being said, I do realize that the NY Football Giants are in huge trouble for the next few years, and probably gave the most disgusting regular season performance in all of the NFL ....
Jets and Saints ..... |

A rematch of that last meeting where our D held the Aint's to their lowest points total all year, but our rookie QB gave N.O. the game anyway... hopefully w/a much different outcome and more patient QB play on the AFC side of the ball than last time. |

I'd absolutely love to see the Jets bitch slap Favre in the SB though.

I've been so wrapped up in wanting Favre not going to the bowl that I didn't think of how sweet it would be if the Jets bitch slapped him in the SB. I kinda like that idea better now. Unfortunately, I don't think he'll make it past the Saints next week.

Just send him back home to Mis'sippi. ONCE AND FOR ALL WITHOUT A LOMBARDI. Can't stand his arrogance, thinly veiled by the "country dumb" type.
God Bless, Ray

And as for the Saints having "bad games", here's a bit of reality to consider: Rope-a-dope!
Why are the Saints almost 100% healthy? Smart coach that thinks ahead, that's why. Quote: |

I don't doubt that the Saints will take care of it, but it won't mean anything at all to me if they do. They're just not a team I've ever paid much attention to in the past, but clearly this year that is changing a bit. If and when they actually do something noteworthy I'll be the first to give them their props. I know futility, I've been a Giants fan since the mid 50s. Getting a ten ton gorilla off your back is a great feeling. I'd be perfectly happy to see the Saints go all the way this year at this point, as long as they do it with style.
As always, when it comes down to it I just want close, entertaining games. The Jets get my love this week just for being the only ones to really provide that last weekend. |

Jets: As a Dolphins fan, I'm predisposed to dislike the Jets. But I've spent much of my life in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, so I've dealt far too often with all the obnoxious Jets fans down there. (They really should move back. )
Vikings: Can't stand Brent. I do love me some Percy Harvin, but he hasn't played a big role so far.
Colts: See Mike's post above about Manning.
Saints: I actually like the team except for Shockey. But then there's Gard. Gard, buddy, I'm sure that in person we would have a great time talking football, bass and the South. But you are the most obnoxious fan on this board by a country mile. And I know you're going to be completely insufferable if the Saints win.
In short, I don't know if I can root for any of these teams.

And I know you're going to be completely insufferable if the Saints win. | First of all, since Shockey got to NOLA, he's become a model citizen, no more ranting and raving. The problem apparently wasn't Shockey so much as it was Shockey in the NY Giants organization. Something is different for him in the Saints organization, either staff or other players, that has gotten him to focus on football and not on the extraneous BS (well, MOSTLY...). He's become a TEAM player in the past two years.
As for me, hey, I'm a homer of the worst kind, and I admit it openly. Those that can't deal with that, well...sorry, get over or ignore me, because I won't go away, even if the Saints DON'T make the big show and take it all. That's right, you can count on my being here yet again next season and talking smack with the best of them.
I'm actually pretty nice in person, I talk a good game, but I will also buy you a beer if my team beats you after I have been screaming at you for 4 hours while they're doing it.

Honestly, I believe this is two of the best championship games we have had in a long while and should be some awesome football. I think any of the teams could win so it is really hard to make pics. To play along, and I am a homer, I'll pick...
