Laviolette has been shuffling lines, but other than that Florida game, goals are just too hard to come by. Depressing...

Looks like the Habs are getting a a taste tonight too. :P
Go Sens.

60.1 High-sticking - A “high stick” is one which is carried above the height of the opponent’s shoulders. Players and goalkeepers must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a player is permitted accidental contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or follow through of a shooting motion. A wild swing at a bouncing puck would not be considered a normal windup or follow through and any contact to an opponent above the height of the shoulders shall be penalized accordingly.
So, again, it was a bad call on Ward, and an unfortunate way for the Caps to give up the go-ahead goal. But it was the Caps' fault for taking their foot off the gas and letting the Sens back in.

| | Online | | Join Date: Apr 2001 Location: Sunapee, New Hampshire | | | Hey guys...just checking in to say college hockey has consumed all of my hockey time. The wife and I catch the home games for the Dartmouth mens team, and even a womens game too. Harvard isn't too far away, so we've been down to a couple of those games. UNH is a reasonable drive as is UVM, UMass, BC, and Boston U. We're looking forward to the Beanpot Tournament in a few days!
I got my eye on the NHL via TSN.CA, but I don't have the same passion for the NHL I used to. I hope Teemu Selanne has a great year, so I'll follow the Ducks. Oh, and I was deeply disappointed to see Holmstrom retired. That one surprised me as for when he did it. Maybe I'm out of touch with reality and everyone else saw that coming.

Some uncharacteristic breakdowns in the defensive zone but mostly an outstanding effort by the Sabers. Buffalo has added some grit to their lineup and they are not going to be at the bottom of the division for long. Add Buffalo and the Devils to teams that already look like they are in mid-season form.

Solid performance by Vokoun. Was also great to see good performances by our young guys Despres, Jeffrey and Bortuzzo. Despres had a fantastic play at the blue line to set Malkin up for the first goal, and beat Lundqvist on the backhand after coming out of the penalty box. |

I haven't seen any reports, but it looked to me like the back of his head hit the ice fairly hard when he fell; so he might have a concussion (in addition to a possibly broken nose). And they didn't even get a power play.

| | | | Yep and then you factor in the ghost hit to the head that didn't happen when a Red Wings player collapsed. That changed the momentum which the Blues had.
Ay, ay, ay...

They may not get into the playoffs, but I don't think they're gonna be pushovers anymore.
...finally.
