NHL concussions, what's your opinion on the problem?

How do you think the NHL should address the problem?

i think its blind side hits/ not seeing contact coming, and equipment. shoulder + elbow pads are too hard. i had a pair of jofa elbow pads and i bet you could put one through a wall without getting hurt.

It's a combination of things - bigger, faster, stronger players, boards & glass with less "give", lighter weight helmets, harder shells on the equipment (like netface stated), and players not keeping their heads on a swivel like they need to. I think they are going to get to a point where helmets are going to thicker, more padded and perhaps made of different materials, such as kevlar and carbon fiber. Concussions are a serious issue in football as well, and the safety protocols are going to get more and more stringent as time goes by.
