So I had an auction running on ebay, that ended last night. The high bidder seemed legit enough, although his bid didn't get close to my reserve price, which was a more than fair price, I thought.
Not 2 minutes after the auction ends, he sends a message asking if I'll still sell it to him at his final bid. I didn't respond.
A few minutes later, he sends another message, asking what my reserve price was, and offering to buy the item at double that price, provided we do the sale outside of ebay, and that I let him and his "associate" pick the item up in person, since we live in the same state.
I didn't respond to that message, either, and reported it to ebay.
This morning, I wake up to a third message from this guy, telling me that I will sell him the item at his final bid, he will come to my house to pick it up, and that if I want any more money, I can "discuss" it with him "and his associate;" and if I report him to ebay again, he'll leave me negative feedback...on my face.
Oh no, an e-thug! I'm shaking with fear.

I'm sure he wants to give you a money order that will more than cover the price of the gear AND a bit extra for your trouble.
I don't know why you're worried. Ever since you found out you are the only living relative of the guy from Africa who died and left you $12 million, you shouldn't need any more money anyway. |

That one is safe to go ahead with; I got a follow-up email from "USA Precedent Obama" assuring me that it was legit. Not only that, but by cashing that check, I'll be helping the FBI fight "the war on terrorist."

Maybe try and bait him into showing up, and have the cops waiting for him. I live for jerking people like this around. Especially since he's already started hurling threats around. Fun times.

Creeps the heck out of me. lol When I first opened this thread the first thing I saw was the avatar. I had to remind myself that it wasn't me. Ha!
OT - I would keep toying with the Ebay thug like a cat with a 1/2 dead mouse.

Some law enforcement agencies take these threats petty seriously as well. It's the new era of paranoia and intervention. |

S.P. | Nope, but I did see a typo... North jersey "Soprano" type characters never say "item". It would be "dat ting".
As in: "You's better sell us dat ting."

Really, all that fuss over barely-used copy of Debbie Does Dallas on betamax?

Not sure what he means by that, considering the item in question...
